: error while loading shared libraries: libdovecot.so.0 (arm cross compile)
Hi. I've made a new attempt at build Dovecot. The build and then install processes appeared to work find. Then when I try to run Dovecot it reports the error: /share/MD0_DATA/optware/opt/sbin/dovecot: error while loading shared libraries: libdovecot.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory To get a better idea of what's going on, I added

cwRsync- chdir failed, server 2003
I'm having prolems with cwRsync on server 2003. I'm getting pretty much identical results to this from the archive: http://lists.samba.org/archive/rsync/2004-April/009187.html, and as far as I can see the only suggestion there was to check permissions. I have one further complication too- I'm trying to sync a remote server on to a vmware virtual disk that I've mounted using the

Problem with ACL and Samba
Dear All I am facing a strange problem that I could not solve, so, maybe you can help me. Look at this situation: I created a new directory with those ACLs (through Samba using Windows XP) [root@server /home/smb/adm]# getfacl teste #file:teste #owner:1002 #group:1006 user::rwx group::rwx group:suporte:rwx group:administ:rwx mask::rwx other::--- [root@server /home/smb/adm]# getfacl -d teste

Administering a Linux domain member in a NT domain, as a "Domain Admin"
Hello, After following the winbind-related steps in the SAMBA 3 howto, I was able to achieve console logins on the Linux workstation by any domain user; Great! Now, I've come to the issue of expecting that a "Domain Admin" should be able to administer the Linux workstation much like a "Domain Admin" administers a Windows workstation on a domain. I've seen

administering an MS Windows partition under Linux
Hi all, If I have a dual-boot machine (Linux and Windows) would I have any good tools under Linux that would allow me to look at the content of the Windows boot partition, administer it, clean up the registry, remove viruses if any, etc? The Windows installation seems to be so defective as to be quite useless so I am trying to think of a good strategy for dealing with the situation. Thanks in

rsync uploading using ASCII translation ... ?
I am running rsync 2.6.3 on Cygwin 1.5.11-1 over ssh to a remote server (server is also running rsync 2.6.3). When I upload a file via rsync to a remote server, its filesize on the remote is much larger than the local copy, leading me to believe some sort of ASCII translation is being done. Some interesting things: 1. If I upload the file using scp instead of rsync, it works perfectly. 2. If

Problem Running Samples (Mingw, Ruby 1.8.0)
I believe I have followed Gour''s instructions to the letter for compiling wxwindows, ruby and wxruby. Indeed all of the compilation stages have worked flawlessly, however when I try to ruby any of the samples I get an error dialog "This application has failed to start because wxmsw241d.dll was not found ...." Looking in the c:/mingw/lib directory robertm@PC126 /mingw/lib $

AD administrator can't administer
Over time I have ignored the fact that my AD administrator has stopped being able to administer. For example, the Ad administrator cannot install drivers or updates. Once a week now, I logout as workstation user and login as the "local administrator" to install drivers or run windows updates (in today's case a printer driver on the workstation.) Does this falls into that "gray

Administering SWAT using userid's other than root...
Hi all... Has anyone got SWAT administration working from other userid's other than root? I've got a rh6.2 box running Samba 2.0.7. I have myself (wkim) in the "domain admin users" and the "admin users". Both the smb.conf file and the swat binarary are owned by root:swat. I'm a part of group "swat". (I'm also a part of group "root" just to

Administering samba locally without opening root to the net?
Hello. I'm trying to find a way to administer a (set of) standalone samba machines (3.x style) locally. Most things are now done using `net rpc' command. But this one connects to a (local) samba server over network, and hence requires auth. Another example is pdbedit tool which accesses local passdb.tdb file directly as long as user running this command has the necessary permissions.

Problem Administering Permissions on Samba Server
I have a Samba-3 server on a Linux Fedora server configured as a member server on a Windows NT domain. Winbind works great. I can do a getent group or getent passwd and it will list the users and groups of the domain. I can also set permissions on the Samba shares on the Linux server using chmod or chown etc. I have the Official Samba-3 HOWTO and Referencd Guide. The HOWTO Guide says you should

administering permissions via Windows 2003 Server
Hi, We have a Linux Release 9 FIle Server with which we are having major problems controlling file permissions. Even though a directory may have 777 permisions when any attempt to change/add permissions on this directory (via computer management by admin in Server 2003) this just results in 'access denied' message even though we have full ownership. We also have a WIndows 2000 terminal

System->Administation->Network
I found quite a bit on google about the problem that "Network" does not show up under the System->Administration menu any more. All the solutions seem to indicate that I just need to install system-config-network-tui, but that doesn't change anything. I've turn off Network Manager before trying to do any of this because I want to configure my network offline. A little
