Attempting to Join Domain
Okay guys, Im trying to get samba 3.0.23a to join a Windows Domain (no suprise right)
Anyways, i ran "net rpc join -U [adminaccount]", it asked for the password to [adminaccount] and said the domain was joined.
Then i ran "net ads join -U [adminaccount]", it asked for the passsword to [adminaccount] and after typing it in, it says

Active Directory join, stages, and AD accounts issues
...ve my Samba class defined in
pre, with my "make ad prod user folders" class defined in post. I am
also managing my ldap.conf, system-auth-ac, nsswitch.conf all in the
initial stages.
I have an exec in my samba module to join the new servers to the
domain, a simple "net ads join -U adminaccount".
I see during --test runs, that the joindomain exec is scheduled to run
after the smb and krb5 files are puppettized. Then way at the end of
my run I see puppet attempting to create my user folders, but it is
giving errors stating that the users do not exist. However, as soon

Redhat 8.0 and Samaba 2.2.5
...y samba pam module has the following
auth sufficient /lib/security/pam_winbind.so
auth required /lib/security/pam_pwbd.so shadow nullok
account sufficient /lib/security/pam_winbind.so
account required /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so
I joined the domain with the following
smbpasswd -j DOMAIN -r PDC -U Adminaccount
I added the proper lines to smb.conf
[global]
winbind separator = +
winbind cache time = 10
template shell = /bin/bash
template homedir = /home/%D/%U
winbind uid = 10000-20000
winbind gid = 10000-20000
workgroup = DOMAIN

Newbie/Unable to join my new Domain
Hi, sorry if this question is worn out but I have set up a machine running
Fedora core 1 with samba 3 and am trying to make my Samba the PDC I can
see my domain GREENTEST from my network places but I am having a problem
joining the domain.
I am sure I am missing something from the security side. Could someone
please help.
This is my smb.conf file.

workgroup = GREENTEST
