I have this problem: there is a subnet 192.168.6.0/24 and the gateway is 192.168.6.1 which has also another nic 172.21.13.123 which belongs to subnet 172.21.13.0 where the PDC of NT-domain is. I have two identical installations of samba v2.25 on linux boxes. On one system everything works fine but on the other, copies of smbd start but never terminate. Can Samba be used as a complete replacement for a Windows 2000 Active Directory server? I have some vague notion that this can be accomplished by using a combination of OpenLDAP, Samba, MIT Kerberos, and the OpenAFS file system.
