porting numbers in UK telewest/bt/adept
A client used to use BT isdn30 and ported the numbers to telewest several years ago. Now, the client moved to adept telecom. I *think* adept resells BT products. We got new numbers from adept (bt?) and the old pbx on the telewest lines forwards the calls to the new numbers. On the adept line I got a digium card in an opteron supermicro server. ztcfg gives me over 99.99 pretty much all the time. Client complains...

dhcrelay on router
...he general stuff is solved, i.e. I can ping from any connected machine to any other including the NICs of the router itself. All firewall tables (including nat and mangle) are set to ACCEPT and flushed. On my model system I have the NIC 172.16.1.121 (eth1), which is surtur and also connects to adept the DHCP (172.16.1.7). This net (172.16.1.0) shall be connected to 172.16.2.0 using the other NIC 172.16.2.1 (eth0, not in DNS). Attached to it is my WLAN access point (ymir, 172.16.2.12). And this is what happens: #> dhcrelay -i eth0 adept.mgr #> tcpdump -i any port bootpc or port bootps...

Wine 0.9.55 late for (k)ubuntu?
Hi all, I noticed on the web site that Wine 0.9.55 has been released on February, 8th, but still I don't see the update on Adept Manager. I'm using Kubuntu 7.10 64 Bits and I added the Wine's official repository on the Adept repository list. Is it just me or there is a problem on the Wine repository? Thank in advance. -- Marco Di Fresco http://marcodifresco.interfree.it/default.html -------------- next part ---...

killing UUCP
Hey *, I'm getting an audit coming down the pipes and I have 2 4.6 release boxes to clean up. I say "clean up" because they have some requirements that I missed despite due diligence. My specific question is: To what extent can I get rid of UUCP? Aside from the SUID/SGID stuff that pops up via my finds, I simply see no reason to have any UUCP stuff on these boxes. Is this stuff

JavaScript question
Hi guys, I know this is not the perfect place to ask this question, but I''m struggling with object-oriented javascript and event-handlers and you guys are probably the only ones adept enough to help me out with this. I have this calendar code I hate (and still have to maintain ;) and wanted to change it to use object-orientation. So I have written a JavaScript-class called PopupCalendar no problem. Now I need to use event-handlers with this class, one of the event-handlers you...

New to R
I'm relatively new to R, and not particularly adept yet, but I was wondering if there was a simply way to simulate missing data that are MAR, MNAR and MCAR. I've got a good work-around for the MCAR data, but it's sort of hard to work with. Josh [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Another Shot At It
...b scouring and more tinkering and dinking around with Samba...and I discovered what may be a major key to my problem... I have 3 PC's...2 are Windoze and 1 is Linux. Windoze machines are likely to understand how to share files across subnets using the same workgroup name...but is Samba as adept? I have a feeling that is at the heart of my problem. I enabled wins support in my smb.conf and assigned the Samba box's IP address as the primary wins server on the WFW box. I also set Samba to be the domain master browser according to the instructions in BROWSING.txt. All of this, al...

Any suggestions here are appreciated, as I primarily do my work in Excel. Are there any good books available that will help me in my quest to become a more adept user of R? I know I am going to need this package for multivariate regressions, etc. Again, thanks in advance for your time and consideration.
