Hi, I've got a dataframe having a code as column name. Addtionally I have another dataframe with a two columns (and lots of rows), the first containing the code and the second some Text (real name). Now I'd like to use the information (pairs of code and name) of the second dataframe to rename all the columnnames in the first dataframe. How is it possible to achieve that? Here a small

Install additional packages from CD
Hi, Newbie here... :) I've installed Centos 3.1 with selecting Custom Packages. Now, I want to install some packages not installed the first time. The manual says that I can use redhat-config-packages but there are no packages that's not installed, just installed packages. So, I can only remove packages.... So, how do I install addtional packages from CD without having to reinstall?

Extending the AJAX autocompleter
Hi (I think Thomas?), I am trying to extending the AJAX autocompleter here, and would need to pass on additional params to the Framework I am using which is taking on the request. For this, I have changed the onObserverEvent function in controls.js as to the following: onObserverEvent: function() { this.changed = false; if(this.element.value.length>=this.options.min_chars) {

Memory limit for Windows 64bit build of R
Dear all I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise machine, with 64bit R installed running on 2 x Quad-core Intel Xeon 5500 processor with 24GB DDR3 1066 Mhz RAM. I am seeking to analyse very large data sets (perhaps as much as 10GB), without the addtional coding overhead of a package such as bigmemory(). My question is this - if we were to increase the RAM on the machine to (say) 128GB,

DomainKey and mailing list
Hm, my previous post on subject seem to have fallen in /dev/null (can't find it even in list archives, strange). Anyhow. While on the subject of spam control. I was playing lately with Domain Key (and also newer Domain Key Identified Mail) systems. It's currently primarly used by Yahoo and Google Mail (gmail). For example, all emails from gmail.com on this list have

Centos Test repository
I would like to express my appreciation to the maintainers of the CentOS distribution for the degree of thoroughness evidenced in the set up of the test repository at http://dev.centos.org. I was casting around for how to configure my yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo to handle a few packages that I must obtain from the test area (firefox, which seems to have moved since yesterday, and postgresql). Storing multiple choices in databases
As an example - you have a select list of all the U.S. states and the user can make multiple choices. How do you grab all those choices into the database and they would be used for queries. I was reading up on serialize() but the warning in AWDWR is that it doesn''t work well for queries. Also composites / aggragates seems a bit much, maybe not. I know in the past I''ve used
