Using lmtp to authenticate email users
FreeBSD 11.2
Postfix 3.3.2
Dovecot 2.3.4
I am trying to use dovecot lmtp with postfix to verify authentication of
incoming email and to avoid being a spam relay (an issue I was having using
sendmail as my MTA).
I am getting the following log message in /var/log/maillog:

the output of "postconf -nf" and perhaps "postconf -Mf".

/etc/postfix/virtual too or is the passwd File from dovecot

I have Debian Linux machine which I installed as a mail server with postfix, and dovecot. my mail server is setup to use SMTP relay. I currently have ports 143, 995, 25 & SSMTP ports open. in the last few days I have been under attack where email is being sent to fake email address for example xxx at evg-mail.org which does not exist in the mysql db.

Heya folks
First of all, sorry if this isn't the correct list, but yet, I think spam is a kind of
network attack and should be treated as a security issue.. I run a working mail server
using Postfix, MySQL, Courier-IMAP, SpamAssassin and ClamAV (amavisd-new) ..
