addmailbox
Hi, I am a new user to both Linux and Asterisk and would be grateful for any help and advice anyone has to offer. I have installed Linux and asterisk as per Andy Powell's excellent getting started guide. The problem I have is that the addmailbox utility does not work and I cannot find the file anywhere on the machine. I downloaded the files via CVS so assume I have the current build. Thanks in advance Neil PS is anyone from the UK attending the Astricon ? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubb...

using the asterisk mailbox utility
...ens if you are out/away from your desk/sleeping you'll miss those vital calls. We need to set up voicemail to capture all those messages if we miss them. The first thing we need to do is create the mailbox for Asterisk to use, thankfully there is a little utility to do this: /usr/src/asterisk/addmailbox You'll be prompted for a mailbox number, when I type in the following command /usr/src/asterisk/addmailbox it says that the command can't be found is this utility still in asterisk? or is this user guide in correct on this part of the set up? so far these user guides are verry self explani...

Question
If you have two asterisk systems how do you hook them up together so the users of one system can make calls onto the other system. Please help
...as I pick up I cant hear anything on the other side. ANy ideas of whay this would be happening? 2. On another note, I have a website that Steve, was kind enough to re-direct me to. www.onlamp.com/lpt/a/3956 . Very nice website on how to setup everything, but it states that I am supposed to have an addmailbox script under /usr/src/asterisk. I don't seem to have this? So when I call in to listen to the voice mail that i have left I get the server informing me that I have voicemail, but I can't seem to listen to them. So I am not sure if I am missing something in the setup of the voicemail. 3....

Creating new voicemail accounts
I have googled this one to death, and can't find anything. I added a number of new users to my asterisk (current CVS) system. I am using the "Voicemail2" family. I added entries in extensions.conf and voicemail.conf for my new users, and I have tested leaving and retrieving new voicemails for them. All of this works fine. But if one of the new users tries to "Administer

Adding voice mail box
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I've forgotten the command to add a vm box, and searching google and wiki I'm surpriced I cannot find it. I'd love to know where this is written, so I can see how I managed to miss it! - -- Steve "They that would give up essential liberty for temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
