We have logins via ADC2 working for 15 mins now.
I have set up sysvol-rsync (works), but the ADC2 logs failing access to
the ADC1. Seems as if the GPOs point to ADC1 somehow?

Screwed up the DC2 now as well. Nice day.
Somehow I overlooked some "stretch" string below "sources.list.d", this
lead to rm-ing samba (and smb.conf etc) ...
Now I have that back up, but it seems I lost some tdb-files or so.

I think I won't demote right now and just leave it as it is. So far the

the samba-ad-dc.service doesn't even start so I assume it won't make
much difference (no communication anyway)? I could shutdown the whole

backup AD content
I happily and trustfully use Louis' backup-script from
https://github.com/thctlo/samba4
to dump AD content via cronjob.
Is it necessary/recommended to do that on *each* samba DC? Is there
something server-specific in the dump(s) or is it enough to do that once
per domain?
thanks ...

Remove dead server from domain.
Hiya,
I have an S4 domain running that I added another S4 machine to as an
extra domain controller. That machine, unfotunately died (quite
spectacularly I must say, think magic blue smoke). I would like to
remove the dead domain controller from the domain.
In ADUC I can see the DC under 'Domain Controllers' but when I try to
delete it (having ticked the 'permanently offline'
