Samba network scripts
I am a new Linux user, I need to find out how to configured the samba
script running on my Linux machine 1. Run as a domain
2. authenticate logon 3. add users and share folders. Can someone email
me a script that I could start with the sample on samba web site does
not help with sharing folder or I just did not Understand!

Problem with Samba on Home Network
I have Samba set up on my Gentoo Linux Box. Our access to the internet
is through a broadband modem/router. Internet access in all instances is
fine. The problem is that one computer is not showing up in even its own
Network Neighborhood. I can access the files on this computer though
from the other computer.
Samba setup is as follows:

Permissions problem
Hi everyone (oh yeah, and I am new to the list but have a little Samba
experience).
I have a Samba 3.0.1 install on a Fedora Core 1 (.2138 kernel non-smp -
not that it should matter for this). I have created a group called
"osla" for the users in my domain and I have Samba working properly as a
PDC, or at least properly in so far as I can join clients to the server,

Win XP Pro / Linux PDC
Hi all,
I'm trying to configure Samba as a PDC. I'm running Debian Woody, hence
Samba version 3.0.0final-1. We have no Windows servers anywhere on the
network (yay!).
I have done an smbpasswd for root, and add machine script is setup (see
attached smb.conf). From the XP Pro workstation, when I fill in the domain
