Extracting sums for individual factors in data frames
I have a data frame with two columns, one of which is a factor
(Species) and the other is numeric (BA, which stands for basal
area). Here's a sample:

Solaris xattr support (from Mac OS X 10.6)
...t just a case that the Solaris xattr support isn't complete/working, or has anyone been able to get it running? I've found the following bug, but 3.0.10dev does at least think it's got Solaris xattr support.
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6633
Thanks for any help.

SAS vs SATA: Same size, same speed, why SAS?
...erable errors an order of magnitude higher.)
Assuming I''m going to be using three 8-drive RAIDz2 configurations, and
further assuming this server will be used for backing up home directories
(lots of small writes/reads), how much benefit will I see from the SAS
interface?

Good SLOG devices?
Hi
I''m running OpenSolaris 148 on a few boxes, and newer boxes are getting installed as we speak. What would you suggest for a good SLOG device? It seems some new PCI-E-based ones are hitting the market, but will those require special drivers? Cost is obviously alsoo an issue here....

Performance drop during scrub?
Hi all
I have a test system with snv134 and 8x2TB drives in RAIDz2 and currently no Zil or L2ARC. I noticed the I/O speed to NFS shares on the testpool drops to something hardly usable while scrubbing the pool.
How can I address this? Will adding Zil or L2ARC help? Is it possible to tune down scrub''s priority somehow?
Best regards
roy
