Problem mapping Samba shares in Windows
Hi, In our company we are currently running a Samba server and Windows XP clients. At the moment we are having problems with mapping Samba shares in Windows. Shares are being mapped through a windows startup script, which executes net use (with the option persistent:no) command. For most users this works most of the time, nevertheless it often fails, the exect reason for this isn't clear

[Bug 443] New: 2.6 kernel failing in NAT with significant outbound traffic
...e scenario: client1 (internal IP: 172.30.32.58) linux1 (172.30.32.55, seen as 200.79.245.55 on the Internet due to an upstream NAT) internetserver1 (80.140.102.163) please note that all external IPs have been altered to protect the innocent/guilty. If linux1 performs MASQUERADING or SNAT or any packets passing through it TO/FROM the internet, the following situation is observed: 1) data being RETREIVED from the Internet works as expected. 100+mb of data has been tested. 2) data being PUSHED to the Internet will fail after a variable (but typically small) amount of data has been sent. DRbFire / ActiveRecord performances
Hi, I''m using drbfire to send a "DRbUndumped" ActiveRecord object from the server to the client, through an ADSL line of 4Mbits/s download, and 600Kbits/s upload. I was afraid there would be too many round-trips between the client and the server, and unfortunately this is true: Server code: ------------ #!/usr/local/bin/ruby require ''rubygems'' require

I have attached a section of the ethereal log for the slow copy. It includes all packets between one "R...

[Bug 627] New: NATed TCP-connections fail arbitrarily
...Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: blocker Priority: P1 Component: ip_conntrack AssignedTo: laforge at netfilter.org ReportedBy: xuan--2009--bugzilla.netfilter.org at baldauf.org It looks like incoming TCP packets are not always matched against a conntrack rule. The result is that the NATing linux box sends TCP-reset packets upon receiving an incoming TCP packet which should be NATed, which in turn kills the connection. Consider following setup: client has IP address 192.168.0.7/24 router1 has IP address...

Error messages? or what
I've been seeing this kind of crap now for some time, and only in the past couple of weeks did I realize I was using the Plus Kernel instead of the normal stock kernel. Could this have something to do with it? Messages also appear mentioning something about a PowerNow K-8, which I thought was something you'd see from an AMD processor, not a quad core intel 64 bit box. Any insight

Problems with Windows 2003 connecting a Samba server
Hi list, I am encountering a problem in connecting a Windows 2003 to a Samba 3.0.21b server. The Samba server is configured to have a security = share option, so that no password is needed. I can connect to the server by typing "net use z: \\192.168.51.1\data", and it is successful. However, if I try to do "dir z:", no file found! Same behaviour are found in Windows

cannot connect without user/pass on Windows 10
...rom their Windows 10 client laptop without entering a user/pass. More precisely: If you try to connect manually to \\IP it says "Username or password incorrect" and prompts to enter a username/password. Despite the server setting to map all users to guest (see further down). I did a packet dump and the client pc asks NTLMSSP_NEGOTIATE, server replies with an NTLMSSP_CHALLENGE and then the client pc simply hangs up (TCP RST). Now the (more) interesting bit: all this only happens when you use a "microsoft account", not if you use a local account. With a local account on...

Windows 2008R2 AD, kerberos, NFSv4
Hi, I'm trying to set up NFSv4 on two boxes (centos 5.5) and have it authenticate against our Windows 2008R2 AD server acting as the KDC. (samba/winbind is running ok with "idmap config MYCOMPANY: backend = rid" so we have identical ids across the servers.) I can mount my test directory fine via NFSv4 *without* the sec=krb5 option. However, once I put the sec=krb5 option in, then I get a mount error: "mount.nfs4: Permission denied" and rpc.gssd reports: "Failed to obtain mac...
