Valid Users in Samba 3
All -
I'm having a problem with the "valid users" directive working. I have an Accounting share that only the Accounting department should have access to. However, I am unable to lock the directory down so only they can access it. I am running samba-3.0.0-2 from an RPM on RedHat 9.0. Below are details of my trials. This is a pretty urgent need, please. Thank you!

Samba Guest Account
Wow I'm sending my second cry for help before the first even gets a reply,
I'm starting to feel like a moron because I have no idea how I caused this
current hitch. Here's the story: I was trying to add an acct called
"administrator" to samba which has an enabled, good linux acct. I never did
get that acct working for some unknown reason, but what happened as a result

ActiveRecord in Rails 2.1.0 misbehaving for Aggregate Attr.
I am not sure if this is a bug in ActiveRecord or is this the intended
behavior. If it is then it does not make sense to me.
In a nutshell: If you change an aggregate object attribute created via
composed_of method (see Agile Web Development - Second Edition Chapter
17 page 313 onwards) and then save the model, the change to the model
(composite attribute specifically) will not be saved UNLESS

Duplicate Radius accounting in Asterisk.
Hello list.
I'm having some problems with the CDR Radius in my Asterisk 1.4. I'm
using two TC400B cards for transcoding. When I reach nearly 100
simmultaneous calls, the CDR radius packets are being duplicated and I'm
getting this message in the asterisk console :
cdr_radius.c:227 radius_log: Failed to record Radius CDR record!
I'm also using the radiusclient-ng 0.5.6

Seeking help with Samba shares & OPLOCKS & Quickbooks databases
I thought I had things figured out, but guess not. I have multi-user
Quickbooks databases that functioned fine on a Novell server but are
behaving badly on a Samba share. I have created a separate share for the
Quickbook databases, users are running Win XP Pro, latest patches, and the
Quickbooks application installed on the desktop. It is a multiuser version.
Server is RedHat ES 3, Samba

Application caching in the browser?
Hello people,
Are any of you implementing application caching in the browser?
Here is the use-case I am interested in:
End-user-Bob uses his browser to navigate to
the_bob_end_user_crm_app.com
While there he navigates to these URLs:
the_bob_end_user_crm_app.com/accts/show/123
the_bob_end_user_crm_app.com/accts/show/321
the_bob_end_user_crm_app.com/accts/show/45678
Each of the above URLs displays dynamic HTML from Rails or an app-
server.
Next, he disconnects his browser from the web.
He navigates to this URL:
the_bob_end_user_crm_app.com/accts/show/87654

CONFIG_NF_CT_ACCT is deprecated
I am not even sure this is a shorewall issue as kernel, iptables, and

Win 98 shares mounted on Linux box don't update
I'v set up my /etc/fstab on my Linux box with a line like
//acct/public /home/me/smb/acct smbfs noauto,user 0 0
where "public" is a shared directory on a Win98 machine called
"acct." When I issue a "mount //acct/public" command on my Linux box,
the share is mounted at the appropriate point. An "ls" allows me to
see all the files and

Please forgive my digging up a two year old thread, but I've got the
same problem, but the pointers there give no help. This is using
versions 3.0.6 (server) and 3.0.7 (client).
Unfortunately, I have to type the client stuff in by hand. ("Secured"
