Pam module leaks information
Hello All,
Im using OpenSSH 4.1 with a proprietary pam module. This module does allow
or deny access to the accound based on a policy file settings. Now if I deny
the access to an account and attempt to connect to the sshd server for that
account with valid password, it quickly returns to next prompt. When I try
it with invalid password, it took some time to return to next prompt. Im
wondering if

Help with PHPconfig setup??
Hi,
Just giving phpconfig a try but can't find and setup instructions..
What I have done so far..
1. Copied the phpconfig files to the web dir on the server.
2. Edited the manager.conf and enabled manager access and setup an
accound (really just copied the sample config but set my own username
and secret)
3. Made /etc/asterisk/* world writable. (I guess I should have made the

Samba PDC with ldapsam - unable to join the domain
Hello everyone,
That's it, I give up - I've got no idea what's going on with the damn
thing... Maybe you will be able to help.
Here is the deal: I've got a Linux machine running Samba which is to
operate as a PDC for a bunch of W2k Pro and XP Pro machines. Since all
user data on that server is stored in LDAP, I figured it would be good
to have Samba use it as well. While setting

hopinig someone here can help me. I have the latest samba package
installed onto my sparc. Samba is configured for a PDC role with all
appropriate machine and user accounds. A Win2K client can authenticate
perfectly against the box, get credentials, login to the workstation,
etc. A user can browse through shares and

RE: Back to 3.0.1, Winbind and Solaris 9 (Mike Dorofe ev )
Hi Mike,
Thanks for replying! I have tried that but I still have the same problem.
I think that PAM is doing its job, I've set up logging so that everything in
pam.conf logs to /var/log/pamlog. In pamlog I see "user 'ganguly' granted
access".
There is something else that is stopping this working, I just can't see what
it is. Any ideas?

Problems when migrating from an old machine to a new one.
Hello,
I've got problems with my fresh install of samba. Here is the background :
We have an old machine on which I installed samba, release 3.0.9. It ran a
linux from scratch system, but I was not well documented about samba at the
time I did this install, so here is how we used to use it. The users accounts
were both created in the system (/etc/password) and for samba (smbpasswd). All

Checking effective group membership - Linux side
First off, on the Windows side I use "ifmember.exe /list" to check the group membership in affect for the currently logged in domain user, works like a charm.
However, Linux side is another story, specifically the net command.
We have, among others, the following mapping in place:
net groupmap modify ntgroup="Domain Admins" unixgroup=domadmin
Based on this documentation:

smbclient sees the virtual samba server but not the windows clients
Hello Again!
I now have a virtual host serving (almost) samba and a real one serving
samba under the original name.
On the local machine, I can access the the virtual host through smbclient
and smbmount. Everything seems all right. Unfortunately, the virtual host
won't serve the windows-9x machines. The virtual (and real) host both
appear on the network browse list but when the win clients
