Recipe for "admin-less restore"
Is there a way for setting up dovecot in such a way that a user can
"jump back in time" to an old mailbox "state" in order to retrieve his
accidentially deleted mail?

Emergency Asterisk Guru Help needed EMERGENCY
911 Help!
I accidentially deleted all directories under /var/spool/asterisk
I did use the backup facility not too long ago but cannot find the
process for restore.
However, I don't believe a full restore is needed -- I just need to know
the names of the directories under /var/spool/asterisk and re-create
them (I hop...

[LLVMdev] Limits in RunSafely.sh
Dear All,
Is the lack of virtual memory limits for Darwin in RunSafely.sh
intentional or accidential? What about Cygwin? It seems to me that
some of the limits should be applied for all operating system targets.

How to Restore emails
I have a user who accidentially deleted a large number of emails prior to a certain date. He
wants them back. I do have a tarfile backup of these messages. Is there a good way to restore
them? Can I simply restore them to the appropriate Maildir directory and dovecot will just
"figure it out"?
Thanks, --Mark

Cookbook/HowTo for using XEN to create a complete DMZ?
Hi Folks,
XEN seems to me to be the ideal partner to create a complete DMZ with
firewall, router, "Bastios Host(s)" etc within a single PC.
So far, I haven''t found any cookbook or how to (at least for the beginning).
Anyone knows of such thing?
Regards
Falko

Tinc crashes when node with identical configuration is present twice
...different reason:
http://www.mail-archive.com/tinc at tinc-vpn.org/msg00538.html
Although I understand having the same node twice inside the network is
clearly a hefty configuration error, maybe there is a way to make tinc a
bit more robust against such a situation? After all, our mistake may
accidentially occur in other setups as well.
We were only get our tinc network back online after identifying the
culprit and disabling one of the two nodes causing the trouble.
Thank you!

[PATCH v3 40/75] x86/sev-es: Compile early handler code into kernel image

But the early ones can trigger a #GP too. And there we can't handle
those #GPs.

Preserving received digits during a fax match?
I have a set of analog DID lines coming into my Asterisk box, via a channel
bank. The numbers in the DID bank route to various places, including voice
lines of various staff. I am using the fax detection engine to intercept
faxes accidentially sent to numbers on the DID bank and reroute them to a
physical fax set up in the office. I would now like to preserve the received
digits and pass them through to a 'faxhandler' section for reuse (ie. in
routing some faxes to email via hylafax, others still to go to the fax
machine). My i...

[PATCH] Screen edge trigger delay
Hi,
a popular feature in Beryl currently missing in Compiz was the ability
to delay triggering screen edge actions, so that you have to keep your
pointer at the screen edge for a while for the action to be triggered to
prevent accidential triggering.
The attached patch adds that feature. I'd like to hear about
questions/suggestions/objections about it.
The only slight problem I see with it is the screen grab check to
disable the delay. The reason for that is that we most likely don't want
edge delays e.g. if edge flipping...

Connecting from W95 to Samba Share
Hello group;
This is a question that has been posted before, but I haven't found an

Setup: Solaris machine running Samba 2.0.0. I can use smbclient to connect
to it from various HP, AIX, Solaris, and Linux boxes, and NT 4.0 clients

So the size of the boot image alone cannot be the problem.

Latest updated scap-security-guide signed with wrong GPG key
Hi,
Today I tried to update my CentOS 7.5 with latest updates, but it fails to
verify the signature of one of the packages:

It seems like this RPM was signed with AltArch PowerPC key (see further

gencache.tdb size and cache flush
...p cache entries. This means we need a middle ground between
CLEAR_IF_FIRST and persistent tdb files. What we can not do is a full
tdb_check upon every daemon startup. We had that, and this sent
winbind into minutes of just reading a corrupt 4GB tdb file. We need
to make live tdb 100% robust against accidential (or even malicious)
corruption.
3 aspects here:
* The recent hardening patches in tdb make me confident we improved here
a lot.
* We need bullet-proof circular chain detection. We need to put the same
logic that tdb_check has into the normal flow of tdb_find().
* We need record crc checks....

How to connect R with SAP/ERP
...files or link to databases; see the RODBC and RDBI packages.
Unless you are an auditor you are unlikely to get direct ODBC access to the
ERP's transaction tables -- it would be a huge security risk. From a
security standpoint end users should not have arbitrary write access because
they could accidentially or maliciously alter senstive data. Even read-only
access can be sensitive, because of salaries, costs and confidential
payments to third parties (perhaps as part of a lawsuit settlement) and
non-public financial information such as revenues and profits prior to their
being announced to securitie...

Trying to understand Suspend 2
I am trying to understand Suspend 2 and what I have to do to get it
working in Centos 5. There is quite a bit for it at ATrpms:
http://www.atrpms.net/dist/el5/hibernate-suspend2/
http://www.atrpms.net/dist/el5/kernel-suspend2/
The later is the kernel patches that they refer to at the Suspend2
website, so I don't have to recompile the kernel?
I noticed that over at:
