Pretec Allegro does not appear to play Oggs
...pecs. in the booklet claims it plays oggs, *some* places on the website claims it supports oggs, but it doesn't actually play my oggs. Can I move it to a "misadvertised" section, or a "rumours" section, or what can I do to indicate this to other people, so they don't accidentaly buy it? Hugo

Why do not prevent users from creating a local copy of c() ?
Hi all, sometime in the past I accidentaly created a copy of the c() primitive function inside my ``laboratory'' workspace, which I normally use to experiment and learn. As a consequence, c() stopped to work correctly and started to return lists of symbols instead of vectors, and today I had to spend much time to seek out that the p...

Is it possible to prevent users from ever deleting anything?
...this and a web based ticket system might be a better solution, but it is only a very small team and we can always talk to each others to resolve conflicts - so using only one mail account for support seems practical and could keep the overhead small - but we do not want to delete anything from it (accidentaly). Of course, at one point in future somebody has to delete some mails from this accounts to get rid of old stuff - so I would like to implement a super-user that is able to do that kind of mailbox maintanance. How would I use ACL to setup such a scenario? Is it even possible? Or did I misundersta...

[samba4] DNS updates
...nd give him right to modify DNS entries. This is important to be underwstood I think because some others users can created to do the same, to be able to find them could nice in a securisation point of view. - how to recreate the keytab of such user without samba_upgradedns: this user can be deleted accidentaly, being able to recreate it without samba_dnsupgrade seems less violent so less risky than switching dns-backend... - how frequent are DNS updates? Is it every X minutes ? After each Site modification + at every samba start? As you see I completely lost into Samba DNS and help would be welcomed. C...

mysql.users deleting
Hello, Today I was working with MySQL in a test box (CentOS 5.0 x86_64) using phpMyAdmin interface. Accidentaly I've removed user table in mysql database (so, mysql.users)... :S I've two interesting questions: 1) Despite of it, ddbb server seems to work perfectly. I use 3/4 diferent databases with their mysql users... and it works yet! I don't understand, because mysql.users is the referenc...

[LLVMdev] updated code size comparison
...f it is not then it is a qemu bug, so it is a bug in either case, you just have to report it to another bugzilla ;) The code does conversions by assigning to one union member and reading from another. AFAIK that was a GCC language extension, maybe they don't support it in the latest release, or accidentaly broke it. I don't know. Someone should reduce a testcase for gcc-head to see exactly what it is about. My gcc (4.4) doesn't miscompile it. Either way I'd rather see a warning from gcc when it decides to optimize the entire function away. > >> Alternatively a testcase could b...

[PATCH 0/9] drm: remove deprecated functions
...committer sign-off, it was the bottom commit under > mine (IIRC "drm/atomic-helper: WARN if fake_commit->hw_done is not > completed as expected") > and dim update-branches seemed to rebase and fix up my patches > and then everything was fine. This sounds like you (or dim?) accidentaly amended that commit (which changes the committer and results in the warning), and a rebase would indeed have fixed that. If the first patch conflicts this can happen because dim apply-branch doesn't bail out correctly. Or at least did in the past, I recently fixed that in commit ee299e510ae468...

NORTH CAROLINA: Any interest in starting NC User Group?
...ps, and wondered if we have enough Asterisk users and interest in the Carolinas to start a group. I am willing to help with the organizational effort if there is interest and maybe one or two other folks who would be willing to help with organization. I tried to post this message last week, but accidentaly used the wrong from email address and have just gotten around to re-posting, so I apologize if this happens to end up being a redundant post. I haven't seen the original go through. Thanks, Mike Clark

Windows XP slow with samba-2.2.7 from RH7.3
Hi. I posted last week a question about a network with some XP PCs. One PC connects fine to the samba server, but the other one is quite slow, almost unusable. There are also Win98 hosts running fine. Someone kindly answered he had the same problem, and solved it upgrading to samba-3 beta. I can't put beta software on this server. Do I have any other option ? Here is an extract of the
