Bug#447795: xen-utils-3.0.3-1: [CVE-2007-3919] xenmon.py / xenbaked insecure file accesss
Package: xen-utils-3.0.3-1 Version: 3.0.3-0-3 Severity: grave Tags: security Justification: user security hole Xen versions 3.x, and 3.1 contain a tool for processing Xen trace buffer information. my next question: no accesss
Even if I can find back a share, (which I sometimes can, for no clear reason) then the next message I get is "no access". I suspect this may be a Linux config thing, but I am still unable to figure what ownership rights I should give to the shares: root:root or someuser:users or samba:samba (this user:group does not exist as yet). What is meant by no access: is it a Windows or a

...ages shows me connection from the IP address - but no errors. My client eventually times out as the file is not being provided. It works by the way on localhost, just not from a client. selinux is turned off. I iptables turned off. tftp is running and my files are in /tftpboot everything is read accesss. I did the yum install tftp-server as normal. Nothing is in my hosts.allow and hosts.deny why might my client be timing out... Thanks, Jerry

Two samba's not playing together
...e netbios-name of the new PDC (I used a modified copy of it to vampire the old PDC). Could this be the reason why access was refused ? What I don't understand is that with that same smb.conf I could see the PDC in the Windows neighboorhood, and I could select shares and use them. And I could accesss it using user-manager and server-manager. For the configuration files go to : http://users.edpnet.be/brouwerij/samba/ smb.conf-PDC is what was in use for the new PDC. smb.conf-FileServer is what is in use for the fileserver. First I tried NEWPDC, then I tried * for the password server, both didn...

Failed to find cifs/foo.bar in keytab MEMORY:cifs_srv_keytab (arcfour-hmac-md5)]
Hi. I'm using Samba 4.3.11 as a domain member on FreeBSD 10.x. Some of my users (around 1%) are experiencing problems from time to time, browsing this server's shares in Windows Explorer - it starts to ask for the password. It doesn't ask the password while accesssing it via it's IP address, and I see in its logs the following (when accessing it via its name): [2016/09/20 10:54:31.451826, 1] ../source3/librpc/crypto/gse.c:497(gse_get_server_auth_token) gss_accept_sec_context failed with [ Miscellaneous failure (see text): Failed to find cifs/wd.norma....

Samba network shares over VPN
Hi there, I have two computers, one Windows XP other Windows 7 (actually a dozen each) which are members of a Samba domain. Users have no problem login in to the domain, running the login script to map network drives and accesssing files on them, for both computers. I want to give users remote access using a VPN (OpenVPN to be exact). The idea is to login on a disconnected computer using a domain account cached profie, then connnect to the VPN, then map network drives. OpenVPN allows running a batch file on connection suc...

udev by-id symlinks randomly missing for tape drives on centos5
...shows all the devices. I don't have any errors in the dmesg/syslog, and the devices work OK if I use /dev/nst* (tape drives) or /dev/sg* (mediumchanger/tapelibrary) devicenames to access them. I'd like to be able to use /dev/tape/by-id/<foo> symlinks to make sure correct devices are accesssed. The server in question is running CentOS 5.2 x86_64 (with latest updates installed). Any thoughts? -- Pasi

[LLVMdev] Version Control Upgrade?
...ository, I have to have two copies of LLVM and manually copy files across. At some point I managed to copy also a CVS directory across and when I tried to check in to our own repository I was actually checking in to the LLVM repository. Luckily I did not have write access. If I could have write accesss only to the win32 directory tree it would be OK since our local version should match the official version for this part of the tree, and I'm actively working on it and submitting patches to the mailing list. But CVS does not let you have different priviledges for different parts of the sour...

Is there a buffer or cache setting in samba?
...ed in RAM before being written to the computer's hard drives? I'm having a strange problem and I suspect that the explanation has to do with that kind of setting. I am using a Linux system (P4-3.06 Ghz, 1 GB RAM, 2.4.22 kernel, samba 2.2.8a) to store video and audio files that can be accesssed by a group of Windows-based video editing systems. I got the whole system up and running a week ago and it was working perfectly (my storage devices, by the way, are a series of firewire drives arranged into a RAID 10 array) When I tested the system with "disk testing program" on t...
