trouble with accentuated characters in \title tag in Rd file
Dear R-devel-list,
Since I had no answer on the R-help-list
(http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.r.general/284539) I try to
present my trouble on the R-devel-list. I am sure in the past (one year
ago) to succeed in putting accentuated characters in the \title tag in a
.Rd file. Recently, creating a package, I have NA in the title function
instead of the text containing the accentuated character.
Could you please tell me what I missed in the understanding of package
documentation creation ? Except the title, all works fin...

Accentuation in the user's CN
Hi folks,
I manage the AD with rsat and recently we had problems with the CN of some
users that have accentuation. When checking the user configuration via
samba-tool user edit <username> in the location where the CN should be
readable, a hexadecimal or something of that type appears.
E.g: Acentuação da Silva

Accentuated characters issue when receiving attributes from "samba user syncpasswords"
I receive stdin input from "samba user syncpasswords" in my python script.
The user is created with ' Active Directory Users and Computers', and have
some accentuated characters in their givenName and/or familyName (sn)
When parsing the diff, the CN reads of, but weird characters appears in the
attributes instead of the right name :

Accentuated email addresses stored in LDAP
...ovecot, but OpenLDAP.
I had to use base64 encoding to store email addresses, because they are
rejected otherwise, with an error message of illegal characters. I also
noticed that some of the fields, like 'dn' and 'cn' where automatically
encoded in base64 when stored when including accentuated chars.
Regarding logging in with international characters, I have not tested it
yet, but I am happy to test and to provide feedback if you are interested.
Thanks again for this excellent software, I have been using it for more
than a decade, now...
Kind regards,
Andr?

render :partial, accentuated characters and Ajax preview
Hi all,
I added a textile preview Ajax - 1 - button to an edit page, and
accentuated characters now show up corrupted (but only in the preview
area)
As
- they are displayed correctly in the rest of the page,
- they are still correct when they reach the ''preview'' controller
, I guess "render :partial" is the culprit.
Is there a way to tell rend...

How to deal with accentuated chars in 0.10.8?
I''m startin to use Ferret and acts_as_ferret.
I need to use something like EuropeanAnalyzer
(http://olivier.liquid-concept.com/fr/pages/2006_acts_as_ferret_accentuated_chars).
By example, if the user search by "gonzalez" you can find documents taht
contents the term "gonz?lez" (gonzález)
The EuropeanAnalyzer is based on Ferret::Analysis::TokenFilter, but
seems that in 0.10.x this is not available.
What is the way to do this...

Latin characters (accentuation) appear with problem within Notes - Solution
Hi all,
I am writing just to keep a record for the solution for the
problem we had with Notes Client.
The problem is that latin characters (accentuation) appears
strange at the emails using Notes Client.
In order to the characters appears correctly you will have to
*eliminate* the trebuchet font (either from msttcorefonts package or
trebuc32.exe, installed via wine - remove it front the Font directory of
your fake windows)....

you mean when you use ldapsearch or similiar tool to export data? LDIF
traditionally encode all data in 7bit ASCII, which is noted by the double
"::" after the LDAP attribute name. The data in LDAP is UTF8 and binary
connections need not encode it either.

Why do you even think a character like '?' would be legal in the local
part of an email address?
