I am trying to run advanced dialog-like menus from com32.
But I can not boot anything... ? it always fails. :-)
So, my /path/to/pxelinux.cfg/default looks like this:

linuxthreads & Printers in Centos5...
Dear All,
Firstly, many thanks for the hard work put in by the development team :)
Now I have a couple of problems, any help welcome:
1) Some of our software needs linuxthreads (i.e. InsightII) but it's closed
source and the writers (Accelrys) are unlikely to respin the code as they
want us to move to a different program.
Is there any way of installing another set of glibc libs on centos 5, to allow
an old, broken, but uselful program to run?
2) As part of my setup script for centos 4, I add a large list of printers to
each workst...

editing kernel options before boot
Hello,
With grub I can use "e" to edit the kernel options before booting.
Can I do this with pxelinux.0?
I have a lot of kickstart files, and now I have inherited a lot of
hardware which requires a serial console and text install.
Instead of doubling the number of kickstart files, it would be nice if
I could append "text serial=XXX" to the kernel options for a

Reloading pxelinux via menu.c32
Hi All,
I have used menu.c32 to offer several booting
options to our users via pxelinux... the icing on
the cake would be if there was some mechanism
whereby the pxelinux boot could be restarted,
with the usual search for pxelinux.cfg/... files...
all without a reboot and going through POST.
Does anyone know if this is possible or if a comboot
module exists for such a thing ?
Cheers,
Doug

OT: Any web based report delivery software that support R out there ?
...the report 'templates' to a
web page, and allow users to request them to be run at certain times
with certain parameters, and pick up the resulting reports once they've
been executed.
Is there anything out there like this ? I have seen a propriatry system
called Pipeline Pilot by Accelrys that effectivley does this.
Regards,
Paul.

Three questions/feature requests
I have three questions. If these are not currently possible, consider
it a feature request:
1. Is it possible to create label aliases, such that one label will
simply use the configuration of another, without having to completely
copy the configuration. It would also be great if these aliases could
cross INCLUDE boundaries, such that a label can call a label defined in
an included file.

menu.c32 empty label?
The attached config works, but gives 2 error messages that get covered
up by the GUI screen so fast I cannot read them. I think they are
probably about having 'LABEL' with nothing after it. I was trying to
follow the example in menu.doc but somehow I'm doing it wrong. Please
consider helping me figure out how to get the same resulting GUI menu
without any error messages.
I am using

vesamenu causing screen lock-up
Dear all,
I have recently been playing with vesamenu.c32. It seems to work quite
well on my hardware test machines. However, it's not really working as
expected on VMWare-based test machines.
(It's really nice to have a slick background image!)
As soon as i choose an option and boot a linux kernel, the menu does
not go away.
Instead i'm left with an unresponsive menu stuck om the

ISOLinux Windows / linux Install DVD
I am trying to create a DVD with ISOLinux as the bootloader to allow my
users to select to install either Linux or Windows.
Having read the article
http://syslinux.zytor.com/archives/2002-October/001135.html i am left in a
bit of a confused state as it sort of half explains things.
All i think i need to know is:
1. What files are needed to boot windows?
2. Where do i have to place the

Changes to batchSOM from 1.9.1 to 2.0.1
Has the algorithm used by batchSOM for hexagonal topology changed in some
way between R 1.9.1 and 2.0.1? In comparing between the two versions, I
get identical results for rectangular topology, but very different results
for hexagonal topology. (I tried to find release notes for the VR bundle
that might explain the changes, but was unable to locate these anywhere.)
Here's the script I

Mapping actual to expected columns for princomp object
I am working with data sets in which the number and order of columns
may vary, but each column is uniquely identified by its name. E.g.,
one data set might have columns
MW logP Num_Rings Num_H_Donors
while another has columns
Num_Rings Num_Atoms Num_H_Donors logP MW
I would like to be able to perform a principal component analysis (PCA)
on one data set and save the PCA object to

for RH5).
Would it be possible to add support for variables / 2 variables

could maybe pe passed as an argument to vesamenu.c32 and menu.c32 (i think
its only of use for people using these files.))

PXElinux and Windows RIS
I was trying to use my windows RIS server to deploy linux so as to require
user authentication. After seaching the internet I found that it was
possible but not very well explained after alot of tinkering I eventually
got it to work.
Here is my documentation so hopefully others can do it in less time than
I, feel free to comment and improve..
