Shorewall wireless acccess point
Right now I have a Shorewall firewall protecting a local network with a VPN tunnel between a remote subnet. In total I have 3 zones; net, vpn, and loc. I want to know if it is possible to add a wireless NIC to my server and have it act as a wireless access point for my laptop. I would want to use a separate zone for the wireless client(s) and I would plan on using an encrypted IPSEC tunnel

Speex support on ARM
Hi everyone, Ever since the iPaqs at handhelds.org went offline, the ARM port of Speex hasn't really been maintained. So I'm calling people interested in ARM/Speex for help. Could someone interested be kind enough to either: 1) Give me acccess to his Linux/ARM machine 2) Tell me where I can access such a setup 3) Send me an ARM device that can run Linux Thanks, Jean-Marc

Mounting redirected My Documents on a linux member of the domain
On my test domain, I have the My Documents folder redirected by a group policy to \\SERVER\home\%USERNAME%\Documents, so is available on any machine on the network. I have added a Linux machine (ubuntu) to the domain, and would like users to be able to access their My Documents folder on that machine. I am struggling to work out how to do this, and have not found any adequate resources on the

user login on behalf of another user
Hello, we are searching for a possibility to configure a user login on behalf of another user with a PAM backend. This reminds to the behavior of a master user. But a master user can access the mailboxes of all users. We need this more restricted. Example: User "user1" and "user2" shall get access to the mailbox "info". We define the accounts

unless connected? + multiple databases
Hello all. I am still having fun with multiple databases. In this case it is the unless connected? statement. ActiveRecord::Base establishes a connection that is inherited by the majority of my models. However one Model (Componentlog) that uses a separate DB is coded as: unless Componentlog.connected? establish_connection( :adapter => "oci", :database =>

So the rdoc claims that a rails request object should have a headers method, right? http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/ActionController/AbstractRequest.html ************** headers() Provides acccess to the request‘s HTTP headers, for example: request.headers["Content-Type"] # => "text/plain" ************* Sounds simple enough. But when running in development mode on the

dovecot-sieve (pigeonhole) -- is is possible to "re-filter" INBOX when filters have been updated?
Hello, Dovecot. I want to migrate to webmail (roundcube) over dovecot + sieve (pigeonhole). Now I'm using on-client (The Bat!) filters, but I need to have acccess to my mail everywhere, not only on my workstation. And I wonder, is here simple way to re-filter INBOX after sieve filters have been changed? Any offline (desktop) mail client could run new filters on old messages -- is

problems with _LARGE_FILES on AIX 5.1 with 32-bit kernel
Dear rsync-developers, on AIX5.1 with 32-bit kernel one can have large-file support. rsync in principle supports it correctly since the flag _LARGE_FILES is treated correctly in the /usr/include/*.h But there is one point missing, the mkstemp is not opening a large file. So syncing large files crash after 2GB. To avoid this one could either put a #ifdef _LARGE_FILES #undef HAVE_SECURE_MKSTEMP

Hi: I?m sorry I didn?t answer before, but I just couldn?t, I was too busy at my job. Tom, I did as you suggest me but it was a surprise, I don?t have acccess to that web site!! I was not prompted for a password or any thing alike but it was prohibited from my server. Nevertheless my workstation could do it. I know you might be wondering: how come, but it?s simple. I have a RedHat server

Accessing data files w/ --use-zip-data
...ot; which will flag the zip options. When the total size of files in <pkg>\data are over a certain threshold of size (100k IIRC) the will be zipped in a file named Rdata.zip to save space. So far, so good. The problem arose in that at least one of the packages in the BioC suite is directly acccessing files in the data directory and not going through the data() command or related functions - and in this case the package authors are doing it in .First.lib() which causes the package loading to fail. The issue that Duncan suggested I raise is whether or not it should be considered accepted behavio...

I do have acccess to dev tools, and have managed to build and install Ruby 1.8.2, RubyGems, and Rails, all under ~/bin. I''m a bit stuck on the next steps to take to try and get something running. ¿Qué hace as.numeric()?
