Re: non-PIC code in shared libs again
...for xtra_stdcpp in "" " -lstdc++" ; do + for xtra_stdcpp in "" " " ; do for xtra_z in "" " -lz" ; do if test "x$id3lib_found" = "x" ; then ac_save_CFLAGS="$CFLAGS" Works fine. As i said, the -lstdc++ isn't needed on darwin, because we have a static C++ library that's already linked into id3. Perhaps you could conditionalize that for the darwin platform. -Ben

[PATCH] Support GSS-SPNEGO natively
I cooked this up while trying to figure out why thunderbird on Windows w/ SSPI was not working, but it turned out thunderbird does not use it, so I haven't been able to test it yet. I'm presenting it for discussion only, unless someone else can try it :) Modern versions of MIT kerberos support GSS-SPNEGO natively, but are only willing to negotiate for kerberos tickets and not NTLM

[PATCH 00/09] arm: tools: build for arm64 and enable cross-compiling for both arm32 and arm64
The following patches shave some rough edges off the tools build system to allow cross compiling for at least arm32 and arm64 based on the Debian/Ubuntu multiarch infrastructure. They also add the necessary fixes to build for arm64 (which I have only tried cross, not native). I have posted some instructions on how to compile with these patches on the wiki:
