New chroot patch, for 2.1.1p4
Hi there, everybody;
As promised, here's the new version for my chroot patch.
It applies cleanly over OpenSSH 2.1.1p4, and I'm attaching 2 versions:
- openssh-2.1.1p4-chroot.patch-wc, is the chroot patch plus
a "--with-chroot" patch for the "configure" script.
- openssh-2.1.1p4-chroot.patch, is the same without the
"--with-chroot" part.
Have fun,

2.2.0p1 chroot patch
Hi there, everyone;
Attached to this mail is the 2.2.0p1 version of my chroot patch.
For those of you interested, my usual warning: This is NOT plug&pray.
You'll have to build a whole binaries/libs/conf files tree within the new
root. (it's just like the "classic" anonymous ftp behaviour)
Configure with "configure --with-chroot" to use.
Regards;

Patch for systems with no setreuid()
Sorry if I'm duplicating an existing patch, but...
On systems with no seteuid() that have setreuid() there is an
emulation, but if both are lacking (but we do have setresuid()),
nothing is done. The following seems to be right, but I've only got
one machine (running an ancient version of HP-UX) which needs this so
it may not be general:

Rsync 2.5.5: FreeBSD mknod can't create FIFO's
The following patch (adapted to rsync 2.5.5 from the one posted in
Dec. 2000, http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/rsync/2000-December/003349.html)
is necessary to prevent rsync from failing on creating FIFOs or UNIX
sockets on FreeBSD. Any chance for it to be integrated in a future
release of rsync?
Thomas.

SX-6 port of openssh, configure problems
When we were porting OpenSSH on SX, we had similar problem. And when we did
#undef HAVE_B64_NTOP in config.h, we faced linking problem as b64_pton()
multiply defined, in base64.c and in libc.a. So we modified configure to
check both the functions b64_pton() and b64_ntop(). But we gave priority to
native function if available. Following are the diffs of three files we
changed

Bug in compile of rsync 2.5.4 on Tru64 UNIX V5.1a using cc
Greetings, here is the output of the 'configure' step and
the compile step (using the Compaq cc compiler that comes
with Tru64 V5.1A. The configure reported success and most of
the compile steps cam through error/warning free except for
the one that stumbled. Can someone help me out here? I am willing
to provide a binary for Tru64 V5.1A if we can swat this bug.
We depend greatly on Rsync

Several changes missing from [HEAD] fileflags.diff
Looking at http://rsync.samba.org/ftp/rsync/patches/fileflags.diff --
It looks like the changes from fileflags-fixes.diff patch were applied
to the patch from http://rsync.samba.org/ftp/rsync/rsync-patches-3.0.0.tar.gz
, but this entire chunk of the that original diff file was lost:

3.6p1 bug on SCO OpenServer
SCO OpenServer 5.0.x
Openssh 3.6p1
loginrec.c writes incorrect data into the ut_id field of the utmp file.
This has been an issue since at least openssh 3.0.2 but I never bothered
to report it. For Openssh 3.6p1, defining WITH_ABBREV_NO_TTY corrects
the problem. Below is a brief patch to configure which does this. You
can observe the errant results in the "Line" column from the

AIX lacks getopt_long
* As a test I added the 'struct option' to the file needing it, and
this confirmed the need for getopt_long() which AIX libc.a does not
include.
* p.s. I ran this dry-run from the "root" directory, perhaps it would
be better from the ./src directory

IEEE_754 logic
Can anybody of the architects of R enlighten me about the reasoning behind the selection of the IEEE 754
mode for the building of R, please?
Special points of interest are:
1. The selection seems to be based on the availability of isnan() and finite(). Is this a common way
to test for IEEE 754?
2. The C9x draft introduces isfinite() instead of finite() (and as I see, some systems, e.g. the

SNMP And SuSE
Attempting to install the SNMP driver on Enterprise SuSE 10.0. The
version of NUT is 2.6.0.
To begin with, I installed the net-snmp and net-snmp-devel packages,
using YAST. If I do this command:
net-snmp-config --version --base-cflags --libs
The result is:

chroot.diff
Hi there, everyone;
I've had a few requests for an updated version of my chroot patch. (the
version found in contrib is outdated)
So, here it goes, updated to 2.3.0p1; "chroot.diff" is a plain diff for
session.c (apply, compile and go). "chroot+configure.diff" is the same
patch, plus an option to "configure" for enabling/disabling chroot support

Revised flags patch
Hi,
first of all, sorry for taking so long. Unfortunately, some other tasks
kept coming up. Anyway, attached is the version of the flags patch, that
is based on the one I'm using with 2.6.9. It is against the rsync-3.0.0pre9
release.
I've included the option name change from the repository, so the
option is now called --fileflags. Improved from the previously
distributed version is the
