Ordering boxplot factors
Hi all, what a great help list! I hope someone can help me with this puzzle... I'm trying to find a simple way to do: boxplot(obs~factor) so that the factors are ordered left-to-right along the x-axis by median, not alphabetically by factor name. Complicated ways abound, but I'm hoping for a magical one-liner that'll do the trick. Any suggestions would be treasured. Thanks,

Arabic Wiki
Hi guys, I'm a MAJOR fan of CentOS and its proven itself a lifesaver many a time in my professional and personal lives. I was hoping to help out by contributing to the wiki by translating as much as is possible of the wiki into Arabic. The thing is, the wiki is split into several ISO based country codes and there are 22 countries where Arabic is the national language, do I pick one in

navigation mode(s) in rgl
Hello, I've CCd' Duncan Murdoch as the rgl maintainer, but I'm also keen to hear from the broader community of any insights. In rgl my understanding is that there's only one rotation-navigation mode, where you left-click hold and the view pivots abound the centre of the scene. In other tools, including Google Earth, that is the default behaviour but there's also a

encoding question
Hi there, I've a little question abound programming an ogg-vorbis encoder. The encode_example.c works ok for files with 44100/2/16 - but not for other formats. I don"t really understand what this piece of code is really doing: /* uninterleave samples */ for(i=0;i<bytes/4;i++){ buffer[0][i]=((readbuffer[i*4+1]<<8)|

prettyR arrives
Hi all, I have finally gotten the prettyR package going (many thanks to Kurt Hornik for his patience). prettyR is a set of functions that allows the user to produce HTML output from R scripts. Given an R script that runs properly, an HTML listing complete with embedded graphics can be produced simply by passing the script to the core function htmlize (Phillipe Grosjean has not only offered

IP aliases for services (including dhcpd)?
I'd like to consolidate the services from several old servers onto 2 CentOS7 VMs that are currently running dhcpd in a balanced/failover configuration. It will simplify things to add the IPs from the old servers as aliases, at least temporarily so everything will continue to connect without changes. However, after adding the first one, I see in the logs that DHCPD is sending its DHCPACKs

[LLVMdev] Adding Intrinsics for custom processor (frotend problem)
Personally I would just modify the frontend - it's not that hard once you know where to look . In this case all you need to do is add the declaration of your builtin to the TARGET_INIT_BUILTINS target hook (see the gcc internals manual) defined in the gcc/config directory corresponding to your target. If the name the the declaration matches the name used with GCCBuiltin in the intrinsics

[LLVMdev] Adding Intrinsics for custom processor (frotend problem)
As mentioned in an earlier mail, I am working on an LLVM backend for a custom processor based on MIPS. My problem is how to extend LLVM to support some esoteric/non-standard feature of the underlying hardware. I saw in the "Extending LLVM" document, that the easiest / most common way to do this was using an intrinsic function, and examples of the technique abound (all SSE for

RE: How to log and block specific application a ctivity
Have read the comments about Shorewall not being a personal firewall, etc., and am not necessarily advocating such use, but, trying to get into the poster''s head, and doing some creative thinking, thought that possibly some form of EGID rule might help out if there is a reasonable reason behind the question. It is not hard for me to see how something like this could be useful.

[LLVMdev] running clang format on the Mips target
Hi David, What kind of "a lot of out-of-tree changes"? You should push changes incrementally as you do work. Holding onto changes means that many things, not just reformatting, can make them need to be redone. We frequently clean up and rewrite code to make it cleaner and easier to maintain. We are moving to a more strict internal review and pushing of changes and post commit

[LLVMdev] [cfe-commits] [PATCH/RFC, PowerPC] Extend 32-bit function arguments / return values
So, I'm not really sure if this is the right approach. I'd like some folks from the LLVM side of things to chime in. In general, I'm not certain we want to continue growing our dependence on the signext and zeroext attributes on return types, or whether we want to do the extension in the frontend instead. Most of the targets in Clang currently eagerly zext or sext the return value to

Shorewall 1.3.6
This is a minor release of Shorewall which rolls up a number of bug fixes. New features include: 1) The new "Shorewall Setup Guide" is included in this release. This guide is intended for users who have multiple static external IP addresses and for users who what to learn a bit more abound Shorewall than is described in the single-address guides. 2) Shorewall now drops

IP aliases for services (including dhcpd)?
Yes confusion will abound. There should only ever be one and only one DHCP server on any network. With two you will sooner of later have multiple DHCP client hosts with the same IP addresses. Packet Signing Options and a "PREFER_NO" option.
Hello, Mac users running OS X 10.12.x report that read and write speeds to SMB-mounted network shares are very poor if packet signing is required (the default on OS X since 10.11.something). Suggestions abound on the Internet that you can restore good throughput by disabling packet signing on the Mac. You do that by creating or editing the /etc/nsmb.conf file and adding: [default]

Two * Questions
We're getting ready to ditch our hosted virtual PBX for an Asterisk solution and I've got a couple questions that probably come from experience; we're looking to host two PBXs on the same box if the PBXs are identified by different DID numbers, and I was curious if: 1. Is it possible to have duplicate extensions between the two PBXs? Eg: 555-1111x100 and 555-2222x100 on same

Slightly OT: Plantronics headset quick connectorwiring
RJ11 Plantronics 1 3 2 4 3 1 4 2 RJ11 Pin 1 is on the left when looking at the contact points. Plantronics Pin 1 is on the left when looking at the contacts (through the plastic sheild) My multimeter battery is low, so YMMV, but: Pin's 1,4 are connected with ~160 ohms Pin's 2,3 are connected with ~1400 ohms On my Plantronics head set. ...which is obviously a destination that charges a high interconnect fee, so one theory is that it's the terminating telco themselves that are stealing the accounts and placing calls into their own network... (This was a popular scam with mobile phone theft in the UK a few years back - stories abounded with tales of rooms full of mobiles, calling premium rate numbers belonging to the thieves, and so on) Anyway, SV is easy to thwart with good practices and tools like fail2ban, svcrash.py, sites like http://www.infiltrated.net/voipabuse/ and so on. As far as I'm concerned, it's history....

ATA type IAX unit ?
For some time now some have been working on a winIAX client, plus others.... Now basically as I have mentioned before (& no one has correct it) there are 4 types of clients.... 1) Softphones, eg msn, xten etc using all computer hardware. 2) Softphones plus hardware, eg: a usb type adapter (mind you there are some things not common available with these yet. 3) Hardphones, basically your
