modem for dial IN
Hi
Not entirely centos related but that what the boxes are running so here i
go ;)
2 of our centos boxes run nagios for network monitoring and send email and
paging alerts and are connected to standard phone lines using modems to
send the pages. I'm looking for a way in the event of provider failure to
login to these machines and so am looking at the ability to connect to the

Rails and Windows Active Directory Authentication?
Hello All, I know there is a component for integrating LDAP with Rails but
is anyone doing any Windows Active Directory Authentication to a Rails app?
I am rebuilding a site that was constructed out of asp and I would like to
rebuild/improve it via rails. On the requirements side I will need to
communicate with Active Directory and I will be required to use MSSQL for

problems with xl (libxenlight)
...e, but I haven't found official solution. What I did is to create a
new vm in virt-manager with the disk created by xl. but it always comes
into error when I tried to manage vm with virt-manager.
4. how can I change back to use virsh instead of xl as the toolstack to
manage xen? It's really aboring to counter all kinds of problems

Wine, freebsd and internet explorer
I'm having serious problems when I try to make the aforementioned
configuration work.
Here's my setup:
freebsd 5.4 stable on athlon-xp (source compiled today)
wine 20050830 installed from ports
xorg 6.8.2
ie6setup.exe downloaded from m$
Once everething is installed I try one of this two methods
to install the browser:
1) Direct method. I type wine ie6setup.exe. It aborts with these

Problem with VSFTP
I have setup an ftp server with VSFTP over Centos 4.4. Everything works fine
except when I login though IE it doen' ask for the username password but by
default it goes to Pub folder. (/var/ftp/pub). I need to access this through
view--> open ftp folder in separate window -> file --> login.
In short the server doesn't prompt for username when I type the ftp address

Vsftp is not writing a log file
No doubt I am making some stupid mistake in the log file, but I cannot
get vsftp to create a log file showing the transfers. Here is my conf file:
