Welcome aboard actions
Hi
Does anyone know how I can deconstruct the welcome aboard page?
I found this thread that offers some info,
http://www.nabble.com/Strange-messages-in-%22congratulations%22-mode-t1106264.html#a2901229
"properties is the method that services the rails_info/properties action
invoked by the link"
How can I trace what is happening?

Weird Rails 2, Candidate 2 error: welcome aboard app env. link broken?
created a new project, then did rake rails:freeze:edge to pull into it
Rails 2, candidate 2. Then script/server webrick then check the "about
your application''s environment link and get a "500 Internal Server
Error"
Is this a bug? Or something to do with using rake rails:freeze:edge?

Hi All..
First off, I thought I''d let you know that im UBER new at ruby, so what
im asking you may have a really simple answer...
Anyway, i just started using RoR and i''ve set it up on OSX, running

It all goes fine and dandy, I get the "Welcome aboard" page to say that
its all setup and running ok, but when I click on "About your
applications environment" it returns a message saying "For security
purposes, this information is only available to local requests." even

Rails... about 4-5 hours later I finished... it wasn''t easy but what
is.. right?
so I changed many things and finally everything seemed to be working (
my old applications! )
I created a new app with this new environment and I received a very nice
welcome note saying: "Welcome aboard! You''re riding on rails!" and there
is a link saying
About your applictaion''s environment.... and when I click on this I got
a sweet red window: "For security purposes, this information is only
available to local requests!"
How can I change this?

first app on Dreamhost with Passenger : "rails needs to know your username and password" ?
I am trying to deploy my first rails app with Dreamhost. I ftp''d over
my existing app, turned on Passenger and pointed it to my /public

Here’s how to get rolling:
1.
Create your databases and edit config/database.yml

Is that message about rails needing to know your login and pwd

default page and session
Hi Everybody!
As a newcomer to this list and to Rails per se I would like to to
post my silly newbie questions ? be patient:
1. I''m not able to get rid of the welcome-aboard-screen. It says:
> 3. Set up a default route and remove or rename this file

> Routes are setup in config/routes.rb.
I''ve done the routing part ? at least I think I have! Now, as for the
removing or renaming of *that* file: where on earth is it?!?!
2. I want to use session[:la...

symlinks and controllers [stuck on welcome]

I''ve got my app sitting in /home/username/todo (todo is the app)
I''ve created my symlink to a www dir:
ln -s /home/username/todo/public /home/username/www/todo
everything is looking sharp at this point! I go to my site:
http://mydomain.com/todo/
I get the welcome aboard message, which is great. Create my
controllers and models and create an index method thinking that the
welcome message is going to get replaced with my index method.
However, the index doesn''t come up and i''m stuck on the welcome
message! Instead, I have to go to this link to se...

Upstream libvirt releases for Virt-SIG
Hi all,
I talked to our oVirt developers who use CentOS for upstream
development. And that's what makes their lives hard because it takes a
long time before they can start using new features of libvirt. The
latest released CentOS version is 7.2 with libvirt 1.2.17, which is
pretty old. But even when CentOS 7.3 with libvirt 2.0.0 gets released,
it will already be old since libvirt 2.5.0 is

Verifying Good Setup of RoR + PostgreSQL
I''ve been reading the RoR tutorials and wiki help stuff, but I''m stuck. :(
I''ve got RoR installed properly and get the "Welcome aboard! You''re

both an "article" and "articles" views (one is a remnant, I think, and
no longer needed) (the "article" folder is empty, but "articles"

RoR works with lighttpd, not Apache
...fter a recent system rebuild, I am now reinstalling Ruby on Rails on
Mac OS X. I have gotten it working, sort of, and can''t understand what''s
wrong.
If I load script/server, I''m told that it found lighttpd and is using
that. I load localhost:3000 and I see the Welcome Aboard screen and the
link "About your application''s environment". And the link works - if I
click it, I see info about versions of Ruby, Rails, etc.
If I don''t load script/server and instead use Apache configurations,
something I had working once upon a time, I also see th...

"About your application’s environment" Effect
I was wondering if there is a Rails method that does something similar
to the "About your application?s environment" link on the "Welcome
Aboard" page you get when you first install Rails.
What the link does is make and AJAX call, then blind down and up using
AJAX.
Thanks.

rails 2.1.0 doesn't find my rails app
...1.2.3 tests to
pass in 2.1.0 with no deprecation warnings, renamed my views, replaced
all the config files with a fresh "rails --force /path/to/app" and
fired up mongrel. Problem is when I visit the homepage of my app,
rails serves that default page that says "Ruby on Rails: Welcome
Aboard". It acts like it''s a brand new empty rails install, but all my
code is right there inside of ./app. Anyone fixed this before? Systems
are Fedora & Ubuntu Linuxes.
Thanks for any insights!
