How to manipulate an abitrary dimensioned array.
If I have an n1 x n1 x 2 array X I can calculate, say, X[,,1]/X[,,2]. If it is a 4 dimensional array then I want to be able to calculate X[,,,1]/X[,,,2], and similarly for higher dimensions. How can I write a function to do this in a general way without having to do a switch for each possible length(dim(X)). So I want a function g that will take an arbitrary dimensioned array, X, and return

Anyone had any luck with SIP clients on the iPhone platform?
Hi, I've tried two SIP clients so far and both have unusable outgoing audio quality. Skype app sounds fine, and recording the same mic sounds fine, so I can only assume there is an issue with the clients themselves. Both clients allow you to register and make calls via SIP with any abitrary provider and credentials, so they'll work with Asterisk. I've tried them with two good

logit link + alternatives
Help needed with lm function: Dear R's, Could anyone tell me how to replace the link function (probit logit, loglog etc.) in lm with an abitrary user-defined function? The task is to perform ML Estimation of betas for a dichotome target variable. Maybe there is already a package for this (I did not find one). Any hints or a code excerpt would be welcome! Thank you -Jeff jeff.pr2 (at)

signal for shutdown in lxc driver
Hello! Try to use libvirt with lxc. I use latest centos6 amd64 as a libvirt host (libvirt from xen4 repo) libvirt-daemon-1.2.15-3.el6.x86_64 In container I also use latest centos6 amd64. Container starts with /sbin/init. CentOS 6 came with upstart as default init. My problem is that I could not shutdown container correctly with libvirt. virsh -c lxc:/// shutdown test Domain test is being

Fitting generalized additive models with constraints?
Hello, I am trying to fit a GAM for a simple model, a simple model, y ~ s(x0) + s(x1) ; with a constraint that the fitted smooth functions s(x0) and s(x1) have to each always be >0. >From the library documentation and a search of the R-site and R-help archives I have not been able to decipher whether the following is possible using this, or other GAM libraries, or whether I will have to try

add Spectre variant 2 mitigations
Hi. Both GCC and clang are adding mitigations for Spectre variant 2 although neither have yet made a release and neither are on by default. After trolling through and building release candidate branches for both I believe this is what is required for the ssh programs (although all the dependent libraries will also need to be built with mitigations, and I suspect libcrypto is a more likely

Anyone had any luck with SIP clients on the iPhoneplatform?
I'm using it rather successfully. Not perfect, but it works. It is limited to WiFi connectivity... at least here in Spain I cant get either client to work over 3G. I'm using Fring and Truphone. Although I have only configured a SIP to my Asterisk with Fring. Skype works fine. We tested with several Nokia 5800 (EM) using Fring. Call quality is worse. At best, we have a 1+ second delay.

FW: winbind on Solaris 2.5.1 not working.
-----Original Message----- From: Clark Mr Philip Sent: Friday, August 01, 2003 11:15 AM To: 'Jeremy Allison' Subject: RE: [Samba] winbind on Solaris 2.5.1 not working. Sure but its rather large and the funny thing is that it runs when it is trussed ( not correctly mind you) but not without it. the truss switches I use are aefo and as I said its large. The IP's and Hostnames are in
