Installing on Abit BE7-RAID
I have RH 8 running on a Abit BE7-RAID motherboard. My task is installing Centos 4.1 with limited knowledge on installing with hardware RAID. The arrays are still in place for the two pairs of drives. HighPoint only shows drivers up through RH 9. Is there anyone who can take me through the steps? Remove the existing arr...

pauses sync'ing between tmpfs and disk on Linux 2.4.x
I've set up a 1GB tmpfs filesystem on a system with a single IDE disk and 2GB's of memory. I'm storing a large amount of RRD files (~300MB) on the tmpfs filesystem to make their generation a bit speedier... this part works great. However, I want to rsync these files over from time to time to a directory on the local filesystem (same physical server). I'm using rsync 2.6.4pre3

Help wanted: Overloading an Intinsic
Hello All, I have been modifying LLVM a project of mine, and have encountered issues with overloading an intrinsic function. I have defined two types, abit (which is mapped, in Intrinsics.td, to i128) and qbit (accordingly mapped to i16). I would like my intrinsic function, CNOT(x,y), to accept either an abit or a qbit for each argument, so I overload with iAny and llvm_anyint_ty, as seemed to be the method for other intrinsics: def int_CNOT: Intrins...

Motherboard recommendations
I have been building my systems with Abit IS-10 motherboards, but NewEgg has stopped carrying them, so I need to switch to something new. Does anyone have any recommendations on a solid motherboard that works well with CentOS? I need a motherboard with built-in video, LAN, and SATA. I don't need RAID or any other fancy features, jus...

how to prevent "blinking" when adding an element with an effect
Hi, I add a div to my document and use an effect to make it apear gracefully. Unfortunatly, when adding the element, the element apears shortly, then the effect (slideDown) lets it apear nicely - so the page flickers abit - What is the best practice to avoid it? Cheers, Ron

DDR2 compile times (was Re: segfaults with 8 gig of ram)
Hello All. Below are some compile times for 2.6.20 on an fx-62 running Centos64 with various 2 gig sticks of dual channel ram (See previous posts with subject of 'segfaults with 8gig of ram' for more details.) It seems dual channel will compile a kernel faster, but only gained around 30 seconds over 20 minutes. Below are the shortest/longest compile times of several compiles done over the

grub-bootxen.sh
This is not abit issue just a minor annoyance. I use Foreman to provision my systems and to keep control I remove all the default *.repo files andkeep away from installing more *.repo files so I can control the content via the foreman(katello) provided redhat.repo. I would argue that the *-release-*.rpm should...

Will Centos work with the Intel D865GLC
I need to replace my Abit BE7 board (cannot run the newer Linux) and keep my near new IDE HD's (250 GB). A D865GLC is new available that uses the Intel 865G chip set, but I have no experience in matching Mobo's with Linux. Todd -- Ariste Software 2200 D Street Ext Petaluma, CA 94952 (707) 773-4523

Ripping CD´s to Ogg Vorbis under Linux
Hi, I recently migrated from Windows to Linux. I´ve used Linux quite a bit in server-enviroments, but as a desktop I have very little experience. I am now looking for a tool to rip CD´s to Ogg with CDDA support. I´ve tried KonCD, but it lacks features and is abit buggy. Sure, I can use cdparanoia, rename the wav´s to the right names and then encode to ogg via oggenc. But since I use X I thought there might be a application for this? I´ve checked the cdparanoia homepage at xiph.org but all links was directed to software that uses mp3, not ogg. Anyone out...

Sound card problem
I came into an Abit AX8 motherboard and single core AMD Athlon 64 FX. I did a quick install of CentOS 5.0 on it to make sure everything worked and then returned the hard disk and case to the original owner. After getting a new case and hard disk, I downloaded the CentOS 5.1 cd images and installed. For some rea...

What motherboard to use?
Hi list, I run several linux-hosts under Xen, but on my computer at home I''d like to get Windows running too as I need it once in a while.. I have an AMD X2 CPU and plenty of RAM running on an ABIT kn9 SLI motherboard. I can''t seem to find any info about support for AMD-V on this motherboard, so I guess I need a new one... Any suggestions as to what to buy? Thanx Sturla _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://li...

Weird USB lockup with Linksys USB100TX NIC
So I have one of these, that I bought cheap on eBay. It was working just fine on my main -STABLE workstation (Abit KG7 motherboard), up until last Friday when I moved it onto the VIA EPIA-M machine I'm building. The NIC was detected OK as aue0, then the machine locked up running dhclient. It turns out that it wasn't really hung, but apparently spinning in the kernel on behalf of ifconfig. I say appar...

X100P interrupt load
...ly 1000 interrupts per second on my X100p card. It was a bit worse under FreeBSD, and I experienced frequent lockups, hangs, and X100p malfunctions, so I switched to Linux. The machine is usable under Linux, but I still think that number of interrupts per second is a bit high. My motherboard is an Abit BE6, and it seems to have some IRQ assignment problems, so I'm wondering what my baseline should be. Also, I have a dual CPU PII motherboard with two X100P cards in it, and it's hitting about 1000 interrupts per second per card too. Is this normal? How many interrupts per second can a give...

Puppet and MCollective

I am using vms so I can add mcollective to the vm template, but I wont know the name of mcollective/activemq machine nor would I know the name of the machine at that point. How do you guys deploy mcollective? It seems abit like a chicken/egg scenario! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. sata centos 4.2
.... This worked, but windows wouldn't boot any longer. The last time I tried this was with CentOS 4.0. I'm reluctant to mess up the windows install and want to dual boot. Searching the web brought up alot of info, but I'm still confused as to whether this should work. I'm using an Abit AN8 motherboard with no ATA hard drives, but an ATA cdrom drive (used for the install). Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks. mark markworkman at woh.rr.com ps. I do have a 3ware SATA card I could put in if that would make things easier.
