use sliding window to count substrings found in large string
Hello together,
I'm looking for advice on how to do some tests on strings.
What I want to do is the following:
(just an example, real strings/sequence are about 200-400 characters long)
given set of Strings:
String1 abcdefgh
String2 bcdefgop
use a sliding window of size x to create an vector of all subsequences
of size x
found in the set (order matters! ).
Now create, for every string in the set, an vector containing the counts
on how often
each subsequence was found in this particular string.
It would be great if...

binary_matrix_to_ascii_dendrogram
Hi,
I have a binary matrix and I would like from it make a cluster by
agglomerative method (like agnes), and then generate a ascii art dendrogram.
See the illustration:

Few questions
Is there a way to list all keywords a mailbox uses? I fetch flags for all
messages and then gorup them, but this is a very nasty solution.
What's the situation with full text search? Will it ever be implemented? Is
it already? Text search on my 0.99.14 is quite slow. Don't understand why no
IMAP server wants to implement this feature.
Does Dovecot support plugins?
Thank you,
Sebastjan

Dovecots pop3-UIDL command impl. not RFC compliant ?
Hi !
POP3-RFC (1939) speaks about UIDL command:
The unique-id of a message is an arbitrary server-determined
string, consisting of one to 70 characters in the range 0x21
to 0x7E, which uniquely identifies a message within a maildrop and which
persists across sessions.
When I issue an UIDL command (dovecot 0.99.10.9)
I get replies like
1 1093990148.1
2 1093990148.2
3 1093990148.3
...
.

setting up both system password users AND virtual users
I'm afraid that I am a rookie at dovecot, and cannot seem to figure the configuration
for a dual system & virtual setup. For now I am using POP3 ---only---
I've got the "system" working, but cannot figure out how to add the virtual system.
The docs aren't quite clear enough for me to understand.
The wiki example for dynamic passwd-file locations

More frames in one packet
After searching the mailing list archive (I forgot to do that before posting, sorry!) I found the solutions:
1) The documentation has a mistake: The bit terminator is NOT set automatically! (I'm using the latest speex version!) It has to be set manually using speex_bits_insert_terminator(&bits);
2) speex_decoder_int() has to be called as long, as it returns -1. After that, all frames

Failed RPC Call
...ough smbclient. If I comment
out the service and restart smbd/nmbd, everything is okay again. I put it
back and restart, I get the error message.
Here's the kicker: Changing only the service name to [Int] and restarting,
the share works great. I've tried several other names, including
[abcdefgh], [abcdefg], [12345678], [Integration], [Intgrtr], and
[integrator] (all lowercase) and none of them worked. I get no log entries
when I get the failed RPC calls.
[Integrator] is the last service listed in smb.conf. See below. It points

updating via CRAN and http
Hello,
thanks for the tips on updating packages for 1.8.0. The updating is a real
problem for me, since I've to do it sort of manually using my web-browser or
wget. I'm behind a firewall that requires http/ftp authentification (username
and passwd) for every request it sends to a server outside our intranet.
Therefore all the nice tools for automatic updating (cran, cpan ...) don't

[Bug 1991] New: openssl version checking needs updating
...rot.org
ReportedBy: vapier at gentoo.org
Created attachment 2137

update openssl ver check
with openssl-1.0.0, they've started a new binary compatibility scheme.
in the past, only patchset versions were compatible (so
0.9.8[abcdefgh...]). but now, minor versions are compatible as well.
so 1.0.[01234...] should be acceptable.
as such, the seed_rng() check in entropy.c needs updating. perhaps
something like the (compile-only tested) attached patch.
