using virtual memory in R (Tom Allen)
hi
are you using a 64bit system? 32 bit systems can only allocate about
3GB to a single process.

I used to use 32bit winXP, then moved to 64bit Ubuntu8.04 to solve my
memory problems.
if you are 64bit, you should try playing around with the command line
arguments for executing R and also look
at the functions ?memory.limit and ?memory.size

what`s best memory - speed - pc for R?
Hi all,
I need to do massive simulations in the next two years. I estimated
that I will need about 64GB memory, if I do not want to split up the
calculations. Additionally I would like to have it as fast as possible.
Can R handle multi-core processors and can all standard operating
systems handle the same amount of memory and speed?
Perhaps someone could point me to a webshop that sales

Problem with CentOS 5.3 Xen and Windows Server 2008 HVM DomU
Hi,
I have CentOS 5.3 64bit and couple of Windows Server 2008 32Bit DomU's
on it.
Problem is that I got hit with the "A clock interrupt was not recevied
on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval" Blue Screen
when trying to run with more than one CPU
When searching around I found that official XEN distribution
(development version) has some fixes for it, but
