Problem with FreeDOS + himem64 + PXELINUX + memdisk
...ncompatibility between himem64.exe and memdisk on this laptop. I would like to help fix this. My knowledge of x86 internals is limited, but I am pretty good at testing binaries and reporting back results... Eric Auer, a FreeDOS developer, commented: Note that MEMDISK access might fail while A20 is off - the handler itself is in 40:[13] allocated low memory, but the disk itself is in int 15 high memory as far as I remember. You should check the MEMDISK sources to see how disk data is accessed and what is done for the A20. Unfortunately, I do not know enough x86 assembly to...

Measuring boot time
...;ve found out that it takes for the bootloader and OS an extra 1 second to load when keyboard is disconnected.I got from the BIOS engineer the following explanation and steps to take: In syslinux make sure that it doesn?t use the KBC at all. KBC functions will timeout when a KBC is not present. GATEA20 (address line A20 wrap around 8086 compatibility gate) must not be controlled by KBC as first option. No menu stuff or something needing keyboard should be used. The GATEA20 should be enabled as follows: 1) Test if A20 is already enabled. If enabled goto 7. 2) Do BIOS int 0x15 function 0x2401 to...

Any workaround for ThinkPad memdisk?
Hi, I saw the Nov. 2006 message on Memdisk having a problem with ThinkPads. I also saw the comment in the memdisk code enabling and disabling A20. I've got a ThinkPad x61t that memdisk is not loading disk images on. The symptom is that it gets as far as saying "Loading boot sector... booting..." Then image partially runs - FreeDOS prints out its kernel message and it's warranty. FreeDos stops at the line " - InitDi...

[PATCH v4 0/3] support for cubieboard2 / sunxi processors
The majority of this series went in a while back, what remains is just the basic platform support and the UART blacklisting. The series has also grown a constcorrectness fix for the other existing platforms too. Still no SATA support from upstream sadly. Bamvor has written some generic docs at http://wiki.xenproject.org/wiki/Xen_ARMv7_with_Virtualization_Extensions/Allwinner Thanks, Ian.

some issues with modules/syslinux
...or more seemed to work just fine * is there a working version of memdisk.c32 [http://reboot.pro/14468/] ? COM32 modules seem to be version-dependant and trying this with 4.05 ended up with "not a COM32R image" so I guess it's written for 4.04. * How's Syslinux influencing gate A20? And MEMDISK? They both seem to result in different A20 access methods being displayed by various memory managers under FreeDOS. One of them actually manages to crash unfortunately. My apologies for the many questions in a single email. Thanks also for having brought up the (slightly outdated)...

Using R "boxplot" function in Excel
Hi, I have downloaded the "R-Com and I was able to run "Interactive Graphics Demo 2" in excel. However, I couldn't create my own boxplot. Whenever I tried to run any code, it always say" Error in loading DLL", even "=rput(A1,A2:A20)". Any idea about what's going wrong? A detailed explaination about how to use R-Excel tool would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance! PS: I would like you to use the following data as an example. [PATCH v3 0/7] support for cubieboard2 / sunxi processors
See http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/xen/devel/297170 for some information on how to get this going. I''ve rebased and addressed the review comments. With this rebase I''ve picked up some patches from Julien which were required to do things properly, so the gic v7 and device blacklisting patches have been changed to use the proper mechanisms. Previously I was able to boot
