Install Glitch
Ubuntu 5.10, Ruby 1.8.3. I installed rubygems, then tried rails, and get a tragic looking error at the end. Is this a problem? It looks related to rdoc. root@bonus:/usr/local/rubygems-0.8.11# gem install rails --include-dependencies Attempting local installation of ''rails'' Local gem file not found: rails*.gem Attempting remote installation of ''rails''

Soft phones that _actually_ work under Linux?
...axcomm - needs some strange widgets various others - either only supplied as binaries, or just plain don't work, or won't compile. Is there just one out there that is guaranteed to work with adequate performance with FC2 or FC3. I don't mind whether its SIP or IAX2 - I just need it to _work_. -- Howard. Segfaults in Icecast 2.0.2

If they still don't, then running icecast (built with debug symbols) in a debugger (gdb) is a good idea; when it crashes you should be able to get a backtrace. Mike

SIP REGISTER behavior change: specific domains possible in REGISTER
Mark has fixed the REGISTER issues to be more RFC compliant. I've created a new thread so that those of you who got bored with the old thread might read this new one. The feature that has just been added was added a while ago, but now it actually seems to _work_. :-) If you have a SIP server to which you are trying to REGISTER, and they demand valid domain (the part after the "@" in your username) but the IP address of the remote server is not recognized as a valid domain, here's what ya do: In sip.conf: register => user@remotesipdo...

How does one use a Netbeui name to ping?
Hello, If I wished to ping a windows machine from a Linux box _not_ using the dotted quad address, how can I discover their IP name (using their NetBeui name)? * DNS is not running locally, (does it need too?) * There isn't a local domain, I imagine we're using our ISP's domain name (we're running the lan segment off a switch connected to a DSL modem/router) * Windows and

Segfaults in Icecast 2.0.2
Hello, Using Icecast version 2.0.2, I'm seeing segfaults when I connect a particular encoder to the stream. I already have three encoders connected, serving six streams without a problem, but adding the seventh stream crashes Icecast everytime after a period of ten to thirty seconds. All but one of the encoders are Darkice encoders and the encoder which crashes Icecast is also Darkice. So

More continuing text for tables
Hello List, While translating documents in markdown, I've noticed that it is often necessary to continue table cell text on the following line, especially when limited to a narrow column, and especially in table headers. Unfortunately, this is impossible with the existing table syntax, which interprets each new line as a new table row. I see that David Wheeler proposed a syntax for a text

[PATCH 0/2] Fix hangup after creating checkpoint on Xen.
Hi, The following patch series fixes hangup after creating checkpoint on Xen. The Linux Xen guest can be saved the state to restore later, and also created snapshot like checkpoint via the hypervisor. But, when the snapshot is created for the PV guest, it will hangup. We added ''PMSG_CANCEL'' message and ''cancel'' handler in dev_pm_ops struct in the pm-linux

Desperate -- I'll even pay -- winbind/samba -- challenge/response password authentication failed
No kidding folks, I need to get this working and am willing to pay money for useful help! I'm having problems getting "challenge/response password authentication failed" with the command "wbinfo -a DOM+W2kusername%password". I presume this will prevent me from using my Windows usernames and passwords to log into my Linux box. My environment is a newly configured Redhat
