Looking for a CentOS-friendly online backup company
...been asked by many to provide backup, which is something we don't want to do in house. So we started looking for backup companies to partner with. The problem is that the ones we've found who support RHEL won't support CentOS. So does anyone know of an online backup company that _will_ support CentOS (and Windows)? Any pointers will be much appreciated! digimer -- Digimer Papers and Projects: https://alteeve.ca/w/ What if the cure for cancer is trapped in the mind of a person without access to education?

Ubuntu 20.10
I made the mistake of updating to Ubuntu 20.10 from 20.04 before before debian repo supports 20.10.? This broke RcppParallel and plotly.? Any idea with 20.10 will be available for r-cran-* debian packages? Thanks Frank http://fharrell.com http://biostat.mc.vanderbilt.edu/FrankHarrell Twitter: @f2harrell

question about scrolling up
...ecause I've just discovered an (apparently) undocumented feature. If you write a file of commands, you can run the file by saying source("file.R"), for example. If you include statistical tests in the file, they won't run. But if you say, source("rile,R",echo=T), they _will_ run. Thus, you can include all your data analysis in the same file and use this option setting to decide whether you want to see it. Of course, it is possible to save all the output to a file, but that is almost as bad as having to use the mouse. Jon Baron -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-...

[PATCH] Add Visual Studio 2008 Prject files
...approach that you have to define _USE_SSE to have SSE optimized build, that you could use USE_ALLOCA if you do not use _USE_SSE, etc, etc. You have to dig around for some amount of time to find all such things. Just to indicate my position: 1) MinGW build support is good. It should be there. 2) I _will_ maintain VS6, VS2003 and VS2005 projects for Speex as long as we use Speex in sipXmediaLib. It would be great to have them checked in to Speex repo, if no - we will keep them in our. Reasons - handiness, ability to link statically, support for WinCE. 3) Project files make compilation much easier fo...

Question about AGI vs. FastAGI vs. straight C/DB development
...ould it make more sense to write a custom application in C instead, designing it to work sort-of like the built-in app_voicemail.c and others? I do know C, but is it worth the effort in terms of ROI? :) I'd like to figure this out in advance rather than after all my customers (hopefully there _will_ be customers) start yelling at me about performance issues. :) Cheers, Maya __________________________________ Celebrate Yahoo!'s 10th Birthday! isolinux 6.04-pre3-3-g05ac953 - failed to load ldlinux.c32
Hi, We have been using isolinux 3.75 for a while now, to support pxelinux and UEFI we were going to update to 6.03, but seeing 6.04 has but fixes, decided to go with 6.04-pre3. First, is that about read for a "make official' ? Second, I did have to modify gnu-efi/inc/efilinks.h for the build to complete (had to remove the (intptr_t) which doesn't belong in EFI/EDK). So I've

password synchronization.
Hello, I'm running samba 2.2 on FreeBSD 4.4. I was wondering if there was a way to sync up the samba and FreeBSD user passwords so that when either via the unix passwd or samba's smbpasswd program a user changes a password it is changed through both systems? If anyone is dong this successfully please let me know. Thanks. Dave.

Re: Subscription state after reload (New subject)
Actually, I have tested this here with an Aastra 9133i and an Asterisk@Home server, and the 9133i will re-subscribe on its own after an Asterisk reboot, if you wait long enough. It took on the order of an hour to do so. Of course, a phone reboot will get it done faster, if necessary, but it _will_ eventually re-subscribe on its own. > Thanks Olle, > > So am I to understand that you are under the impression that BLF DOES work > after a reload or reboot provided the phone re-registers? > > I have two separate manufacturers phones. Impossible to IPfilter this?
Hi! I'm trying to increase security on my FreeBSD 4.8 firewall/DSL router/VPN router. My problem is with firewalling the VPN part. I'm using a tunnel to a RedHat 7.1 box running FreeS/WAN. This tunnel allows traffic from my internal net (172.17.0.0/24) to that box only: spdadd 172.17.0.0/24 $REDHAT/32 any -P out ipsec esp/tunnel/$MYADDR-$REDHAT/unique; spdadd $REDHAT/32 172.17.0.0/24

problem with eval(..., parent.frame(1L)) when package is not loaded
...without loading the package, or when lmer() is called from within a function that Imports: but does not Depend: on lme4. A simpler version suggested by Martin Maechler shows that this is a generic issue (except that it's unlikely to happen with base R functions because the relevant packages _will_ be loaded unless one bends over backwards): R_DEFAULT_PACKAGES=NULL R --vanilla > stats::lm(y~x,data=data.frame(1:5,1:5)) Error in eval(expr, envir, enclos) : could not find function "model.frame" I wonder if anyone has encountered this and/or can think of a fix (something with s...

hardware issues? driver issues?
Got a bunch of servers from Penguin. Supermicro m/b's H8QG6. We put a 3tb drive in for additional workspace for the users, and some of them won't read, others will go for weeks, then spit out DRDY errors. lshw shows the controller as an ATI SB7x0/SB8x0/SB9x0 SATA. I did notice that it shows *-storage description: SATA controller product: SB7x0/SB8x0/SB9x0 SATA

MythTV on Centos 4
I'm starting a project to build a MythTV box for my living room. Anyone else currently working with MythTV on CentOS 4? Here are some of the gotcha's I've worked through so far: - I was originally planning on using KnoppMyth. But their CD appears to be only for i386. Without realizing it, the P4 CPU I picked is one of the newer ones with the x86_64 extensions. It won't boot

Automated printer driver problems
Hi, I am having a problem with automating the download of printer drivers from a Samba 2.2.8 server. We used to use the server with he following options set: use client driver = yes disable spoolss = yes However these options have now been removed from smb.conf. Following the instructions available in printer_driver2.htm (supplied in docs/htmldocs in the source), I can add a printer driver to

...provements, I'd rather see the Syslinux developers actually writing code. In theory, user documentation should be part of development. In practice, The Syslinux Project simply lacks of enough resources. So, the intention of this email is not to reject nor disregard the provided feedback. It _will_ be considered. BTW, using the "search" feature in the wiki is usually helpful. Please, do not be discouraged by my words; on the contrary. I am sincerely hoping and wishing for more feedback and more contributions (specially resolving bugs), not less. Thank you and Regards, Ady.

initramfs howto
...what it does manually). Run_init deletes all the files on the initramfs to free up the space and chroots into the "real" root. DO NOT use pivot_root and try to unmount the initramfs; since initramfs is rootfs you're pulling the rug out from under the kernel by doing so and bad things _will_ happen as a result. 4) Testing There is no need to reboot repeatedly to test your initramfs; you can test by building the initramfs into a UML kernel. There is no need to rebuild any programs (or klibc) to do so. VMWare or bochs should work too.
