smbwrapper or smbmount ?
Hi ! The O'Reilly "Using Samba" book, recommend not to include smbmount support as it is for Linux only: "This feature wasn't being maintained at the time the book was written, so the Samba team made it an optional feature and provided smbwrapper instead. The smbwrapper feature works on more Unix platforms than smbmount, so you'll usually want to use --with-smbwrapper

Opus on Analgo Devices ADSP-21489
Hi, I am evaluating the opus codec for use in an embedded design. I have successfully ported opus on a TI C5502 (fixed poin dspt) but need to use a more powerful dsp processor for our application. With the C5502 it takes 4.5ms to encode 2 (mono) channels with a 5ms frame @80kbits per channel. I need to reduce the computing time to reduce latency and leave some time for the DSP to perform some

Release of centos-3.3 ISP bill
It turns out that the release of Centos-3.3 was so popular, that it threw us way over the threshold of our ISP's, and now we are stuck with a _very_ large bill (as in an estimated 6TB of transfers). While in one hand I am ecstatic that we are so successful, but on the other hand, that is coming out of the developers pockets. The developers should be the last ones footing these bills (and this

Hi All, I don't have a "I need help" question, so much as a query into any update whether 'R' has made any progress with some of the core functions retaining classes. As an example, because it's one of the cases that most egregiously impacts me & my work and keeps pushing me away from 'R' and into other numerical languages (such as NumPy in python), I

...d to any bootloader in particular, is that the real "genisoimage" is not really up to the task for UEFI-booting. You either need "mkisofs" (from "cdrtools", and even better would be to use the latest version available, v.3.01 at the moment), or xorriso (which has a _slightly_ different approach in certain regards when comparing to mkisofs, such as the "isohybrid" matters, or the command line syntax / parameters related to UEFI-booting). Now, regarding the file system. Using a FAT fs is commonly known to be supported by current UEFI firmware. As first thou...
