[LLVMdev] interesting LLVM code optimization issue regarding timer registers
This problem was reported to me by a friend who has an LLVM port that is not put back to open source. Essentially, there is an intrinsic call _lr which is a load register. so then user code has something like: start_time = _lr(TIMER_REGISTER) ..... some_code_to_time .... end_time = _lr(TIMER_REGISTER) So what happens is that LLVM moves the code as follows: start_time = _lr(TIMER_REGISTER) end_time = _lr(TIMER_REGISTER) ..... some_code_...

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking
