...? The boot loader itself can't really be hardened in the same way as typical runtime code under a kernel (such as Linux). Remember, we typically start in 16-bit real mode at address CS:IP 0x0000:0x7C00, prepare an environment then switch to something more like protected mode. The boot loader _installers_ should be safe with the hardening. -- -Gene
