...fore, and removing it doesn''t break dom0. I doubt the reason from following definition which is copied from Linux directly into Xen:

For a UP system, SMP_CACHE_BYTES is only 8 bytes to save space. Then maybe several months ago, there''s s...

Problem with rsync-2.6.8 and -c (checksum)
Hi
I have a problem with rsync and the -c option. I think understand what
it does, but I'm not sure, it does it correctly. But then I guess,
perhaps I don't understand what it does... :-)
I use "rsync version 2.6.8 protocol version 29"
I use the following command:
/opt/rsync/bin/rsync -av
--link-dest=/home/user/backup/old
/home/user/source

Compiz lockup with XRandr and External Monitors
...just my plain laptop panel and I could not make Compiz
freeze X. It only works with an external monitor.
[1]. The Xrandr command must resize specifically the external
monitor. Compiz would never freeze until after I executed a command
which resized the external monitor.
[1].a. The command must _increase_ the size of the Xrandr
framebuffer, as far as I can tell. (Resizing the external monitor to
a smaller resolution never led to a crash later; resizing it to a
higher resolution (1440x900, 1680x1050, etc). always did).
[2]. You MUST close and then reopen the Desktop Effects launcher. If
you merel...

Understanding lm-based analysis of fractional factorial experiments
All,
I have just returned to R after a decade of absence, and it is good to
see that R has become such a great success! I'm trying to bring Design
of Experiments into some aspects of software performance evaluation, and
to teach myself that, I picked up "Experiments: Planning, Analysis and
Optimization" by Wu and Hamada. I try to reproduce an analysis in the
book using lm, but

It's all speculation at this point. But there are _several_ factors.
But I'm sure the first time Intel saw AMD's x86-64/PAE52 presentation,
the same thing popped into my mind that popped
