Audio Performance on solo instruments
Hello everyone, I was curious if anyone has performed any listening tests or
done work with solo instrument performances with the CELT codec?
I experience quite a bit of noise coming up with a heavily tonal stimulus,
the worst offender being a trumpet. I understand some of this behavior is to
be expected, this is a perceptual codec afterall, but was curious if anyone
was able to find an elegant

Do you think 16kHz @ 28.8kbps will ever be possible realtime?
Many thanks for your work, it is _greatly_ appreciated here.

Antivirus logging linux

Anybody have any idea on something that can do this?
I tried asking on the securityfocus virus list and I emailed grisoft about
their network product. Neither proved fruitful...
I want to be able to run my own custom reporting from sql on the fly

Any pointers would be _greatly_ appreciated as even googling doesn't appear
to be helping me here...

SIP registration timeout
...ble that the SIP server is having problems with
re-registration when the IP address changes (even when the client
reports this change as per my solution above)? (I find that my DSL
connection changes IP address unusually frequently... possibly as much
as every few hours.)
Any suggestions would be _greatly_ appreciated!

Speex 1.1.2 - Try it on ARM
Hi,
I just released unstable version 1.1.2 that contains more fixed-point
work. Though it's still not 100% complete, enough have been done to make
it run in real-time on ARM. In order to do that, compile with
--enable-fixed-point --enable-arm-asm. All narrowband modes work in
real-time with complexity 1 (some work with higher complexity) and some
wideband modes also work (up to ~20 kbps) at

Discussion: Are we ready to leave 1.4 behind?
Friends,
We have a discussion on asterisk-dev about the maintenance of the 1.4 branch. According to the release plans, support for 1.4 was scheduled to close in April 2011 - basically now. After that, only security patches would be committed. This is already a delay from the original plan published by Russell Bryant.
Unfortunately, I think this is way too early. My feeling and experience is that

portupgrade(1) | portmaster(8) -- which is more effective for large upgrade?
Greetings,
I haven't upgraded my tree(s) for awhile. My last attempt to rebuild after an updating
src && ports, resulted in nearly installing the entire ports tree, which is why I've
waited so long. Try as I might, I've had great difficulty finding something that will
_only_ upgrade what I already have installed, _and_ respect the "options" used during the
