help/hints/suggestions/tips please: how to give _generic_ compilation for a particular ISA a non-zero LoopMicroOpBufferSize?
Dear all, Some benchmarking experimentation I`ve done recently -- all on AArch64 -- has shown that it might be beneficial for all AArch64 targets to have a positive LoopMicroOpBufferSize, whereas the default that applies to all ISAs seems to be zero. Although I`ve tried going as far down the rabbit hole as I can, I haven`t found a way to set DefaultLoopMicroOpBufferSize on a per-ISA basis or

Can USBstikA boot USBstkB ?!
PS. Since I've now only got a laptop, I mostly use TinyCore linux; which is also sysylinx booted; and makes provision for *THE SLOW REACTION TIME OF SOME USB DEVICES*; which may be the subtle cause of my problem in trying to boot a second USBdevice [other than the <boot device>]. ...ing that each ISO image might include different versions of c32 modules. Also note that some ISO images might include special c32 modules or a patched bootloader (e.g. not included in the official upstream release, or with some special patches). In such cases, there is no "multiboot" _generic_ rule/workaround/solution, since such particularities might or might not be compatible with other distros' images. Therefore, the most generic answer would be that users should use c32 modules matching the same exact version of the bootloader. Distros using patched bootloaders or special c32...

...optional script, or some file location, are some of the many examples in which there is some kind of interaction (between scripts, users, third-party tools...). The proposed patch for the checksize.pl script changes the potential arguments. In the current context of these comments, which are _generic_, I do not care whether the code is improved, nor whether the optional parameter that was eliminated was not being normally used in the current building steps. The only thing I am focusing on in my present comments is that there is some kind of interaction, and that it is being changed. The ass...

S4 accessors
I have a small S4 class for which I've written a page grouping many of the accessors and replacement functions together. I would be interested in people comments on the approach I've taken. The code has a couple of decisions for which I could imagine alternatives. First, even simple get/set operations on class elements are wrapped in functions. I suppose I could just use myinstance at

Can USBstikA boot USBstkB ?!
Yes this is the SAME question, that I can't get an answer from a month ago! I have the files, from a USBstik [now stolen] which I previously could edit at boot time, to boot any of my IDE or SATA partitions. Now, with a laptop, I want to boot the same IDE or SATA via a USB-adaptor to IDE/SATA. And also I want to boot a Toshiba 500GB USB disk. The obvious question is: why [if] the old system
