_Streaming_ AAC to HTML5 player
We've been using Icecast KH for years now with great success. Thanks again Karl H! It's past time to ditch Flash! I'm probably a bit out of date on this issue. The last time I checked, no browser was able to directly play an AAC / MP4 / M4A stream from Icecast. They can play AAC _files_ but not _streams_. I see that there are now alternatives beyond Wowza and Red5. But my question is: is anything happening with Icecast to address this? Thanks!

Log format
...i, i am using the output of --log-format=%f in a shell script to post-process the changed files. After an update from rsync 2.6.3 to 2.6.8 the script doesn't work correctly because it seems that since rsync 2.6.4 even directories appear in the log. Is there any way to have only the changed _files_ logged? BTW: What would be better to use: %n or %f? Regards, Markus

...meaningless. The config is organized into topics only to make it easier to humans to find their way around. The way to apply a setting to a specific component is to put it under a section such as: protocol imap {}. You've mentioned that you have different mail_plugins settings in different _files_, but are you sure they are always inside the protocl xxx {} section?

Read-only folders from XP Pro
...properties window the checkmark near the read-only attribute is shown in grey; if the user removes it and clicks on OK nothing happens, the attribute is not changed. The same user, when accessing to the share using a Win2000 client, has no problems. Setting and unsetting the read-only attribute on _files_ works fine, also on WinXP. Setting it on directories does not work, if I recall correctly, neither on Win2000 nor on WinXP. But UNSETTING it on directories works fine on Win2000, while it doesn't work on WinXP. This is an important problem for me, and I opened up a bug report some days go (Bug...

You've mentioned that you have different mail_plugins settings in different _files_, but are you sure they are always inside the protocl xxx {} section? Thank you for this detail. While I suspected such operation, I now know for sure. While not all protocol sections are defined in each file, here are the contents of the other files that contain mail_plugins parameters : 10-m...

Opposite of cp -u
I had at one point copied a large number of files between drives and did not use the -p and thus the timestamps were all set to the date of the copy. I did not catch this, and deleted the source. So I 'lived' with it and have since changed many files. Well, yesterday I found a good backup of many of those files and I want to restore them to their proper dates. cp -p -u is exactly

still ACL bug in 3.0.14a
Sparc Solaris / UFS file system. I have some ACL's set up for a handful of users and its all worked flawlessly with every incarnation of Samba I've used over the past couple years, which would be most. Last Friday evening I upgraded from 3.0.11 to 3.0.13 and some of the users I have some ACL's set up for promptly found Monday that they couldn't save new Excel files, they'd be
