Fitting a survival curve
I am new to R and am trying to fit a survival curve with a weibull
hazard function to a set of data giving the probability of survival to
age x, given the year of birth, in the form:
Probability of survival:
Birth year
1980 1981 ... 2003
.2 0.90 0.89 ... 0.87
1 0.80 0.81 ... 0.79
age 2 0.75 0.74 ... 0.73
3 0.70 0.69 ... 0.68
5 0.50 0.49 ... 0.43

ElTorito.sys Scanning Strategy
...you do it? Is there a
special invocation? Do you scan downward or upward?
Reading the 1995 specification, one might guess that requesting the
status for drive 0x7F would return the last-booted El Torito drive
number. Reading EDD-4, it explicitly states that simply requesting
status is _expected_ to return the last-booted drive number, with no
mention of DL anywhere in sight. That means that compliance with EDD-4
requires returning the last-booted drive number regardless of the user's
DL query. _However_, eltorito.sys has to deal with _other_ [non-EDD-4]
cases, which one reason fo...

poisson fit for histogram
I haven't been an R lister for a bit, but I hope to enlist someone's
help here. I think this is a simple question, so I hope the answer
is not much trouble. Can you please respond directly to this email
address in addition to the list (if responding to the list is
warranted)?
I have a histogram and I want to see if the data fit a Poisson
distribution. How do I do this? It is

Bug/limitation: allowoptions (for label), implicit (for automated)
Hello,
At the boot prompt ALLOWOPTIONS 0 is only applied to implicit kernels and not to labels. For configuration which want to allow selection, but prevent customization of the kernel command line, this behaviour is bad.
Also the IMPLICIT 0 is applied to both the boot prompt and configuration setting (like DEFAULT); but one could argue that only the command supplied at the prompt make sense to

Naming convention for foreign keys
Hi,
In "Agilge Web Development With Rails" on page 217, an example of
foreign keys is shown.
I am however unable to find a definition of wheater the naming of the
index is significant. On the above mentioned page, this line is shown in
the example:
constraint fk_items_product foreign key (product_id) references
products(id)
In "fk_items_product", "items" is
