bored? Become a Icecast volunteer
...c
getting more and more important to improve stability and performance.
As the current team can hardly handle all those in-time and that will
delay releases, so we are looking for some volunteers.
There are many tasks to do. Also no programming skills required! There
is something useful to do for _everyone_ who wants to help and any time
amount you want to spend!
If you are interested just reply to this mail or join us on IRC in
#icecast on Freenode.
Have a nice day!

[LLVMdev] ExecutionEngine/Interpreter/ExternalFunctions.cpp
...#39;m working on bug 122, consolidating the interface to the SymbolTable
class. In doing so, I found the function below which traverses the
symbol table but apparently unnecessarily. Before I remove the
traversal, I thought I better check with you guys. Posted this to the
list because it looks like _everyone_ has edited this file :)
In the code below, the IOB variable is the only thing in the loop that
seems to get modified. However, it is never used in the subsequent code.
Perhaps there's some subtle usage here I'm missing. I'd like to delete
all the code from the start of the function to...

Xauthority location: only per-user setting possible
.../etc/ssh/rc:

However, .ssh/environment handling does not parse environment variables
(good thing; they might not even be known at this point) or provide much
flexibility.
To provide xauthority in /tmp for _everyone_, everyone has to pick one
$XAUTHORITY location and put it in .ssh/environment.
This does not seem too scalable.
One other application of this is an SSH gateway where users _don't_ even
have a writable home directory. There are probably more.
I can't figure out how this could be done in...

Indentation Conventions for Ruby and Cucumber

Oh... let the pleasure be mine!... and why wait?
_EVERYONE_ knows that the only way to indent ruby code is 2 plain spaces.
Tabs are known to be the source of all evil and 4 spaces obviously wastes
space and bandwidth...
Anyone else who says otherwise is obviously and irrefutably misguided :D

question on affylmGUI / oneChannelGUI
Hi everyone.
I installed affylmGUI and oneChannelGUI package on R 2.7.1 with the
latest version of BioC.
After I start R, I do get an error that says "Error in
loadNamespace(name) : there is no package
called 'affylmGUI'" and a pop-up window with a message "fatal error :
unable to restore saved data
in .Rdata". I would really appreciate your suggestions on how to fix

Well, I already read a few people echo my sentiments, but since you
expect this from _everyone_, let me second what Reid and Andrew Lenharth
have said. :)

In that case, it needs a cool "release name". :)

the problem is intractable, and perhaps insoluble
...nd even the seemingly non-problemmatic course of action --
having david correct #76 -- isn't the panacea it promises to be.
first, it's not all that easy to fix a text, not in their current state
(namely, rewrapped, and rarely attached to a specific scan-set).
and i'm referring here to _everyone_, not just the whitewashers.
jim, for instance, has a hundred+ errors in his version of "huck".
karen lofstrum had several hundred errors in the book she did.
so even those rock-throwers have targets on their _own_ backs.
second, and perhaps more important, it would force david to
admit h...

Printer banner always 'nobody'
I've had this problem as long as I've been using samba: every time
anyone prints from a PC they get a banner page labeling them 'nobody.'
Now, I realize this has to do with the guest account being 'nobody,' and
the server is passing that name to the printer. It can get very
frustrating, though, when lots of folks use the same printer and all of
the jobs have the same name

Mocha Mock''s hanging on after test run?
Hi guys,
I''m running mocha (0.3.2) against Rails core and just found an issue
where the mock doesn''t go away after the test is run.
For example:
def test_reset_bang_doesn_reinstall_named_routes
ActionController::Routing::Routes.named_routes.expects(:install).never
@session.reset!
end
def test_zzz
puts ActionController::Routing::Routes.named_routes.inspect

That's the 1 command I make sure I let _everyone_ know when they are
installing FC/RHEL on any new system and memory is going to be limited.
I really tire of the "Red Hat is bloated" comments, especially as of FC2+.
Yes, you _do_ need a i686 class (PPro, K6, M2), but that's more to do
NPTL and other details than "bloat."

Promise FastTrak series
Hello,
In some weeks I'm going to reinstall some old RedHat9 based servers with
Promise FastTrak TX2000 "semi-hardware" RAID1 controllers. I just tried to
install CentOS 4.0 on a computer with a spare card and as usual both HDD
attached to the RAID1 controller are seen separately by the installer
because the specific driver for the TX2000 wasn't loaded. Nothing new here,

a new directory service
I am not averse to making time-dependent information available. But it
does not fit in this model.
We have to change the model to accomodate time-dependent information,
and I'm not willing to use the model that has been use in the past,
which was to treat both types of information as identical and just
accept all the inconsistencies and problems.
And easy solution is to let clients query

CentOS Based Fierwall Document
For those of you that either have an older revision of my firewall document, or are otherwise keeping track of it, there is a new version available. The current version of the document is version 3.1. It's changed rather significantly in some areas.
