Bug : Autocorrelation in sample drawn from stats::rnorm (hmh)
...It is really worrying that most of the R distributions are affected by this bug !!!! What I did should have been one of the first check done for _*each*_ distributions by the developers of these functions ! And if as you suggested this is a "tolerated" _error_ of the algorithm, I do think this is a bad choice, but any way, this should have been mentioned in the documentations of the functions !! cheers, hugo This is not a bug. You have simply rediscovered the finite-sample bias in the sample autocorrelation coefficient,...

Bug : Autocorrelation in sample drawn from stats::rnorm (hmh)
Hi Hugo, I've been able to replicate your bug, including for other distributions (runif, rexp, rgamma, etc) which shouldn't be surprising since they're probably all drawing from the same pseudo-random number generator. ?Interestingly, it does not seem to depend on the choice of seed, I am not sure why that is the case. I'll point out first of all that the R-devel mailing list is

Bug#369042: xen-utils-3.0: does not work with 32.bit userspace and 64-bit kernel
...ython:9108): Unknown cmd fd(3) cmd(00185000){00} arg(ffffc534) on /proc/xen/privcmd and then xend just gets an exception and dies. I guess this bug might ultimately lie in the kernel, which needs to provide 32-bit ioctl emulation for the Xen ioctls, but the userspace should at least give a proper _error_, not just segfault/exception out and die badly. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16.11 Locale: LANG=en_...

Problem installing/loading packages from Africa
I'm very new to R and I live in Mali, west Africa. I'm on *OS X 10.7.5*. I downloaded and installed *R 3.2.1*. I downloaded and installed *RStudio 00.99.893*. I ran through the free Microsoft data camp intro to R course, then started another free course through 'edX', for Data and Statistics for Life Sciences, using R. The first prompt in the course is to
