sfq limit
The limit parameter for SFQ qdiscs isn''t listed in the howto. Based on a mail from this list from 4 may 2002 ("SFQ queue lengths - generalization"), I''d guess it limits the number of packets/bytes in in the queue, but wether it does so by number of bytes, packets, or time spent in the queue I don''t know. Perhaps someone in the know could add a line to the

Sangoma A200 preventing Zap channels from disconnecting immediately after PSTN line hangs up (getting empty voicemails)
As far as I can tell, after discussing this matter with other asterisk users in my area, my telco _does_ provide disconnect supervision.. It seems that the problem is actually related to the Sangoma A200 card I'm using, as two other people both using this same card have expressed the same problem.. Are there any other users on this list using the Sangoma A200 FXO port card, and experiencing prob...

OpenSSH: multiple vulnerabilities in the new PAM code
This affects only 3.7p1 and 3.7.1p1. The advice to leave PAM disabled is far from heartening, nor is the semi-lame blaming the PAM spec for implementation bugs. I happen to like OPIE for remote access. Subject: Portable OpenSSH Security Advisory: sshpam.adv This document can be found at: http://www.openssh.com/txt/sshpam.adv 1. ltsp kernel crash
...that you can't use 1 etherboot pxe image for different types of nic's. When I replace etherboot with pxelinux, and try to boot the ltsp.org kernel, it crashes after the 'loading linux.........' output (weird colorful blinking characters all over the screen). A default linux kernel _does_ boot (until it stops cause it can't mount the nfs root-filesystem) I'd like to use the default ltsp.org kernel, instead of compiling my own. I use the latest default ltsp kernel, dhcp 3.0.0 and hpa-tftpd. Has anyone encountered this problem too? Jan-Frederik Martens

STABLE/9 SMP ACPI suspend/resume - video mode not being restored
Hi, I'm toying with the SMP/i386 ACPI suspend/resume patches in -9. Thanks so much for this! I've noticed though that the video backlight stays off after resume. A common problem on -9, so I set hw.acpi.reset_video=1. That restores the backlight. However, the video mode isn't restored. I have my console set to VGA_80x60 and the resume seems to set it up "wrong". I get half

Asterisk16 - PJSIP - Error 401 on outbound registration
...ut of our server and we see that the expiration parameter is setted to 3600 ! Asterisk version is Asterisk 16.2.1~dfsg-1+deb10u1 on Debian 10 up to date. We also installed 16.7 from scratch, same problem. I have to mention that our test asterisk is also a Debian 10 with Asterisk stock 16.7 and _does_ register normally against the same provider :( If someone had a clue on this, welcome. -- Daniel

discrete entropy is not rotation invariant?
Hello, suppose one is forming a probability p(x,y), where the x,y axes are somewhat accidental and rotation is possible. I'm thinking about whether the discrete entropy H(x,y) should change if the probability is rotated in the x,y plane. My current conclusion is that it _does_ change, at least if the entropy is estimated via bins. As a simple example, suppose the probability mass is concentrated in a single bin (that is not close to the center of rotation), but it is not a true delta function, merely concentrated. After rotation, the probability mass will often be s...

Partial search on prefixed data
...", so as the user types, it triggers a search for "name:whatever the user put in". This seems like an ideal use for the FLAG_PARTIAL flag; in fact the documentation seems to mention this very scenario. However, FLAG_PARTIAL doesn't seem to work when searching with a prefix. It _does_ work when I remove the prefix, but then of course I don't get the results that I'm after. Is this the desired behavior? If so, is there a way to do what I'm after? Google and the docs haven't contained the answer for me thus far... Thanks a bunch, Sean

php version 4.4 / ez publish
...irements as of the current version tells me that it requires php 4.4 which doesn't meet what Centos 4.4 or its upstream provides. For a certain project I want to use ez publish. Is there any solution you see for that? Install a seperate server for that? (That's the least I wanna do). Or _does_ it work with php 4.3 under centos 4.4? Any experience? AFAIK, mingw _does_ link against the MS runtime. mingw32 allows "one to produce native Windows programs that do not rely on any 3rd-party C runtime DLLs." ^1 mingw32 "uses Microsoft's runtime (either CRTDLL.DLL or MSVCRT.DLL) for all services, and you get no more and no less than what Microsoft...

Is there a version of Cygwin that _does_ build LLVM in release mode? Locking _does_ work for postfix and dovecot (discussed with Wietse, partly by mail). Any idea? As an alternative, is there a way of handling the problem better? Dovecot just locks on these corrupt mailboxes :-/ I didn't try Dovecot 1.0, as it is alpha and I don't have any package for that anyway (pro...

[LLVMdev] LLVM built on VS C++ 2005
I'm not sure you understand the problem. Are you saying that a file compiled with mingw can catch an exception thrown by a file compiled with VC++ when the two are linked into a single program? That a program compiled with mingw can be linked against the VC++ runtime and *not* the mingw/gcc runtime? Linking against system DLLs is very different from what I'm talking about. Adam
