SIP _call_ to Asterisk box
Is it possible to make a call from a SIP/IAX softphone, say Zoiper, on
one computer to an Asterisk system without having an extension/account?
If so what are the terms I need to search for to figure out how to do
it? So far "anonymous SIP" has got me the closest I think but no brass
ring.
TIA,
Rod

Samba vs. NetAppliance
Hi,
I'm debating purchasing a NetAppliance fileserver that does native CIFS.
Below is a URL
to a NetAppliance authored paper regarding performance. One of the sections
compares
NFS to CIFS and talks about Samba. Can anyone dispute any of this? Is
there any reason
besides price that I should stick with Samba?

Ignoring time spent waiting in queue in CDR
Hello,
I'm working on an Asterisk configuration for a call center, and they
bill based on the time spent talking to an agent, but not for any time
spent waiting in a queue. The CDR information contains the entire
duration of the call as billable seconds, including time spent waiting
in the queue. I would like the billable seconds to only include the
time spent actually talking to an agent.

Evaluation puzzle
The survexp function can fail when called from another function. The "why" of
this has me baffled, however.
Here is a simple test case, using a very stripped down version of survexp:
survexp.test <- function(formula, data,
weights, subset, na.action, rmap,
times, cohort=TRUE, conditional=FALSE,
ratetable=survexp.us, scale=1, npoints, se.fit,

using tapply() with the quantile function?
Hi:
Summary:
I am trying to determine the 90th percentile of ambulance response times for groups of data.
Background:
A fire chief would like to look at emergency response times at the 90th percentile for 1 kilometer grids in Cape Coral, Florida. I have mapped out ambulance response times on a GIS map. Then I superimpose a regularly-spaced grid over the response times and spatially join the

No automatic refresh?
Hi!
I've been struggling with this install of Samba 2.0.4b on Linux/x86 2.0.36.
All of the client machines run Windows NT 4, SP 3.
I'm exporting /tmp as pub, and if I right click in the folder and create
a new folder, it doesn't show up until I go to 'view' and 'refresh'.
If I delete something, it doesn't go away until I refresh.
Why?
