Preforming an action/trigger after a user successfully authenticates
Hi -
I have searched the docs for v1.0 RC7, but cannot find what I'm looking for.
What I'm ultimately wanting to do is have Dovecot preform some action,
or a trigger, when the user is successfully authenticated. Even more
specifically, I'd like to run another SQL query to record a date/time
for last authenticated login.

pop3 stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/lib/qpopper qpopper -s
I would NOT suggest doing it that way. Use:
pop3 stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd qpopper -s
instead. At least for me it works behind a tcp wrapper, and that way,
you can use access control and every connection _attempt_ gets logged.

My emails tend to be lengthier than others, in an _attempt_ to be
clear, especially to common users whose natural language is other than
English.
Unfortunately, some of my emails seem to be ignored.
As I already reported, this is not specific to ArchLinux, as it can be
also found in Debian (Testing) and Fedora 24 too (and very possibly in
other distro...

Fine, I will do it all again and use some tool like 'script' to log
every single byte, but it'll be a few days before I can email that to
you since it takes overnight to zero out the drive to ensure no old
data will interfere, and copying the data from the old drive to the
new one is also rather slow.
For the record, I did RTFM. It has no complete examples for _ANY_ use
case, and you
