Benchmarking CVS HEAD vs. v1.0
...with CVS HEAD. The C1,
C4 and C8 mean queue lengths of 1, 4 and 8 commands. 1 practically
disables it, so it runs like v1.0. Doesn't look like the queue length
makes much of a different.

Creating a private CRAN with webpages
I'm not trying to create a mirror of the CRAN. I also do not want to create
a "subset" of CRAN packages. Sorry if my explanation was confusing. There
are internal proprietary R packages that I would like to host on a private
repo. I like the CRAN web pages that allow a user to browse the various
packages from a browser without having to first install them. I want to

to_json inconsistency?
Hello,
ActiveSupport::JSON::Variable.to_json is the only to_json without an
"options" parameter. Is this intended?
For example, this code in a .rjs
page[@user.dom_id].visual_effect :drop_out, :afterFinish =>
ActiveSupport::JSON::Variable.new("foo")
fails with
ActionView::TemplateError: wrong number of arguments (1 for 0)

problem with ggplot2 boxplot, groups and facets
I have a following problem:
The call
qplot(wg, v.realtime, data=df.best.medians$gv1, colour=sp, geom="boxplot")
works nice: for each value of the wg factor I get two box-plots (two levels in
the sp factor) in different colours, side-by-side, centered at the wg x-axis.
However, I want to separate the data belonging to different levels of the n
factor, so I add the facets option:

Indexing Mail faster
Hi,
I am trying to get faster search results on our webmail client(Roundcube).
Besides using Lucene for FTS are there other options?
Would having all mails indexed give fast results?
Currently the time it takes to search 25,000mails is 4mins. If indexed how
much faster are we looking at?
Really appreciate if someone could advise about this.
Thanks
Kevin

PHP probes
Hi all,
I remember at OSCON 2005 there was talk of adding DTrace probes
to PHP (in fact, I have a photo of Bryan and Wes working on it!).
Did they ever get into the upstream branch, ''cause I don''t recall
seeing a --enable-dtrace (or similar) configuration option when
I recently built PHP 5.2.1. If not, is there an ETA?
TIA,
