No ring on extensions
Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to a problem I am having. I have asterisk installed, and running. All extension phones are analog on FXS ports. The phones call each other and even transmit caller ID information but they DO NOT RING. Here is my setup: T400P Quad span T1 card currently connected to a CAC I w/ 12 channels of FXO for incoming lines and 12 channels of FXS for

zaptel and low ring voltage
Hi all, Several months ago we built an * box with a quad-FXO tdm400p (REV e/f). >From the get-go, there has been a problem where occasionally (2-3 times a week) zaptel/* will not detect the ringing on a line. (The call will ring through to telco voicemail). The problem is not specific to a single line or FXO port on the tdm400p. I have 2 theories: #1 - the ring voltage for some calls is

False RING (incoming call) on Digium X101P FXO
...c, Line 4334 (ss_thread): CallerID returned with error on channel 'Zap/5-1' == Spawn extension (pots-line, s, 1) exited non-zero on 'Zap/5-1' Clearly there is no CallerID because there was no actual ring signal. Why is the FXO seeing a local hangup as a Ring? I thought Ring was 90v AC.. not something easily mistaken. The hangup is just one pulse. I have tried both kewlstart and loopstart with the same results. This is a standard U.S. (Southwest Bell) line. What else can I try? Is there any way to 'tighten up' the ring detection? -Steve

Ring power on Analog adapters
Hello, I have a big old Fax machine that will only pick up a ring at 24volts and 20mA(minimum) ring[according to the technical specs manual]. None of my SIP -> Analog phone adapters supply this: Cisco - 50 volts SIPURA - 70 volts Handytone - who knows, but it doesn't work can anyone tell me if there are any analog adapters or channel banks that can send a 24V 20mA ring signal? Also,

TDM400P > BT
Hi folks, Any Brits on the list got experience of hooking devices with standard BT plugs to the TDM400P? The TDM400P has the RJ11/RJ45 socket but I'm not sure if a standard adapter will do the trick or if we need to consider ring capacitors etc. Any links to buy the stuff would also be appreciated. Sipura spa-2000 / 3000: surge protection
I am located in the UK, and I am using Sipura spa-2000 adapters to connect analog phones to a voip network. The network connects to the PSTN as well via the Sipura spa-3000 adapter. I would like to provide surge protection for the spa-2000 and the spa-3000 adapters. 1. For spa-2000, fxs port: What is the maximum tip-to-ring voltage before damage to the the adapter occurs? 2. For spa-2000,
