samba-tool domain demote - current DC is still the owner of 2 role(s)
...is email, I realized that the DNS records could be of importance too (since AD tends to store a lot information there). Here goes. Additionally I am using BIND9 as backend.

Remove Redundant DCs internal DNS
Hello List,
I have successfully migrated my DCs to 4.7.6-Ubuntu
However, I still have some traces of the old DCs in the DNS...

Samba + BIND9 DLZ. DNS dosen't resolve FQDN, only short hostname
Rowland, thank You, but this removes only the NS record, but the faulty
domain A records remain. How to deal with them, I don't know. They
behave unlike the ordinary A records.

Dumb questions
Hi,
I've followed Muller's HOWTO thread and it worked like a charm, except for
these errors when starting smaba on node2
mba,DC=dghvoip,DC=com using filter (uSNChanged>=3524)
DsGetNCChanges with uSNChanged >= 3524 flags 0x00000070 on
CN=Configuration,DC=samba,DC=dghvoip,DC=com gave 0 objects (done 0/0) 0
links (done 0/0)

Samba + BIND9 DLZ. DNS dosen't resolve FQDN, only short hostname

without domain suffix, but nothing changed, and the record seems no
different compared to other records added with the suffix some time before.
My Samba DNS record looks like this (and I see nothing special in there):
