300 dpi and eps:
Hi, I have a run of 5 graphs that I want to place them under the same page. Everything works fine to place them in a pdf file , or eps file, but when it comes to have a high quality of 300 dpi these graphs are not good. For example I open the eps file with Adobe Illustrator (AI) and it shows that it is a 72dpi graph. If I start with a 72dpi graph AI cannot improve this to 300 dpi. Q: HOW CAN A

Problem Compiling 1.1.1 on AIX
Hi all, We've been running Dovecot since December '07 with with no glitches. It's a great solid piece of software, thanks so much Timo!! I thought I'd try out 1.1.1, so I brought it down and tried compiling it on AIX, using the IBM compiler, xlc. It's what I've used all along. The error I'm seeing on the make is: source='array.c'

Problem with Integrate
The background: I'm trying to fit a Poisson-lognormal distrbutuion to some data. This is a way of modelling species abundances: N ~ Pois(lam) log(lam) ~ N(mu, sigma2) The number of individuals are Poisson distributed with an abundance drawn from a log-normal distrbution. To fit this to data, I need to integrate out lam. In principle, I can do it this way: PLN1 <- function(lam, Count,

AR-GARCH with additional variable - estimation problem
Dear list members, I am trying to estimate parameters of the AR(1)-GARCH(1,1) model. I have one additional dummy variable for the AR(1) part. First I wanted to do it using garchFit function (everything would be then estimated in one step) however in the fGarch library I didn't find a way to include an additional variable. That would be the formula but, as said, I think it is impossible to add

Dispersion in summary.glm() with binomial & poisson link
Following p.206 of "Statistical Models in S", I wish to change the code for summary.glm() so that it estimates the dispersion for binomial & poisson models when the parameter dispersion is set to zero. The following changes [insertion of ||dispersion==0 at one point; and !is.null(dispersion) at another] will do the trick: "summary.glm" <- function(object, dispersion =

Network Performance Update
My thanks to all that responded to my posting about measuring network performance.? Helpful suggestions are always very much appreciated.? The type of testing that we were attempting does not appear to be a major topic of interest on the list but the additional information below may be helpful to some users. Initial reports of an issue with |dd not being recognized was questioned so several more
