fentonups driver patch for Effekta MHD3000 UPS
Hi ups-devel,
As I looked throw www.networkupstools.org site, haven't found any
pointers where to send patches, so I hope this is the right place.
(Please let me know weather this is the right place.)
The patch contains a minor change in the logic of the driver, our
Effekta MHD 3000 UPS continuously writes status data to the serial port,
so one has to send a CR character and empty the

9.6?
I see that 9.6 has been released. Did I miss the announcement and/or the
call for testing?
I do have an issue with this release in that it breaks interaction with
HPN-SSH. The client seems to be window limited to 2MB sending regardless of
what is being advertised by the receiver.

Big problems after update to 9.6
Hi David,
It seems like a network issue to me, As it's unable to connect the other node and getting timeout.
Few things you can check-
* Check the /etc/hosts file on both the servers and make sure it has the correct IP of the other node.
* Are you binding gluster on any specific IP, which is changed after your update.
* Check if you can access port 24007 from the other host.

Big problems after update to 9.6
Hello,
We have a cluster with two nodes, "sg" and "br", which were running
GlusterFS 9.1, installed via the Ubuntu package manager. We updated the
Ubuntu packages on "sg" to version 9.6, and now have big problems. The "br"
node is still on version 9.1.
Running "gluster volume status" on either host gives "Error : Request timed

Read variable column width data
Reading data with variable column widths.
Here are several lines of a txt data set I would like to read.
The number of variables is fixed at 13 . The problem is how to read the
first variable when it can contain blank space-- for example " Alabama
(Seasonally Adjusted)" , "St. Clair", etc.
Alabama (Seasonally Adjusted) 2,168,870 2,162,604 2,122,787 1,954,895

OpenSSH 9.6 client is stuck
I am trying to run ssh to a server continuously and quickly. Out of
about 10-12 times of good run or result, once the client gets stuck.
It does not connect. This we are observing after upgrading both the
server and client to OpenSSL 9.6p1.
We are running this cmd on the client side:
ssh -vvv -p 1022 -o UserKnownHostsFile=/dev/null -o
GSSAPIAuthentication=no -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -o

list multiplied by a factor / mapply
Dear list,
this works fine:
x <- split(iris, iris$Species)
x1 <- lapply(x, function(L) transform(L, g = L[,1:4] * 3))
but I would like to multiply each Species with another factor:
setosa by 2, versicolor by 3 and virginica by 4. I've tried mapply but
without success.
Any thoughts? Thanks for any idea!

Crossed random effects in lme
Dear all,
I am trying to fit a model with crossed random effects using lme. In this
experiment, I have been measuring oxygen consumption (mlmin) in bird
nestlings, originating from three different treatments (treat), in a
respirometer with 7 different channels (ch). I have also measured body mass
(mass) for these birds.

how to handle irregularly spaced data as timeseries
I have a set of modeled climate data recorded at irregular intervals.
The format of the data is such that there are monthly measurements for
the years 2000, 2020, 2050, 2080, etc. Therefore I have 12 regular
records, a skip of some number of years, then 12 more monthly records,
another skip, and so on.... I created a dataframe from .txt with the
read.table() command. For starters I need

# IP601's with POE per Catalyst 3560G-48PS
Hello people,
I am having difficulties figuring out the POE power draw in
watts from a Polycom IP601. I want to know how many
IP601's can be powered from the Cisco Catalyst 3560G-48PS.
The IP601 wallwart has: Input 120VAC 60hz 19W, Output 24VDC
500mA. I assume the output is appropriate value to figure
out how many phones can be powered.
The Cisco 3560 datasheet says "the 48-port PoE

redirect "subbs at domain.com";
}
It's not being honored; all emails from .info

split variable / create categories
Hi,
is there a function or an easy way to convert a variable with continuous values into a categorial variable (with x levels)?
here is what I mean:
I want to transform x:
x <- c(3.2, 1.5, 6.8, 6.9, 8.5, 9.6, 1.1, 0.6)
into a 'categorial'-variable with four levels so that I get:
[1] 2 2 3 3 4 4 1 1
so each element is converted into its rank- value / categorial-value
