smbd process grows to 25Mb resident size
...between the machines so are also identical.
On my PDC which seems to be accepting almost all of the clients, my smbd
processes
are 33M with 25M resident. This seems to be used by dev:32,0 ino301938
,see pmap
below, which is a similar size on most smbd processes. I can see some
where it's 8k.
Any idea what might be causing this and is it possible to cap it at
all? Is it normal and
nothing to be concerned about?
It seems to be related to how busy the server is as my BDCs, which only
seem to pick
up between 10 and 60 clients at any one time have footprints of around 8
to 10 MB.

Better audio in than just 8k
Hi all,
If I use a SIP softphone and set to gsm codec clearly I get a 8K sample...
if I change that to something like opus I get a much better sounding
input...
How do I get a "better" than 8K sampled input ?
I "desire" to have that input be from a pipe. I have cd quality audio in
this pipe - I would like to get that audio into asterisk to then send...

8K HEVC decoding with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
Hi all,
I have developed an Android VR player, which supports 4K video playback so
far. I want to include the support for 8K video. The current Snapdragon 845
mobile platform supports up to 4K video playback, which lacks the support
for my requirement. So I choose Android-x86 as my platform for development,
which is Android OS runs on Intel x86 architecture. I've tried to play
8K(7680*3840) HEVC encoded video on Andr...

howto monitor disks on a serveraid-8k?
Hi,
I'd like to monitor the disks connected to a ServeRaid-8k controller in
a server running Centos 7 such that I can know when one fails.
What's the best way to do that?

100% random writes coming out as 50/50 reads/writes
I''m running on s10s_u4wos_12b and doing the following test.
Create a pool, striped across 4 physical disks from a storage array.
Write a 100GB file to the filesystem (dd from /dev/zero out to the file).
Run I/O against that file, doing 100% random writes with an 8K block size.
zpool iostat shows the following...

Can somebody shed some lights that if I want to play an 8K HEVC encoded video on Android-x86 with NVIDIA's decoder enabled, what should I do in this project? And how to start?
The steps are straightforward, although each one of them is fairly tricky.
1. Load decoding firmware into the engine
2. Hook up engine "servicing" (like interrupts, c...

Why not just add 4 pixel wide black bars at the top and bottom to make
160x128, that requires even less processing than any scaling.

Aggregation elements
Howdy,
Is there a method to get the number of elements in an aggregation? Are the
results stored in an aggregation guaranteed to be in any type of order?
Thanks for any insight,

Database corruption after clean rebuild
Hi notmuch developers,
I also had this database corruption, I waited for the fix to land
in notmuch 0.26.2, build it, moved the xapian directory away, did

remains:

Matrix to "indexed" vector
I have a matrix that I want to turn into a transformed matrix that
includes the indices from the original matrix and the value. The
matrix is simply real-valued and is square (and large (8k x 8k)). I
want something that looks like (for the 3x3 case):
i j value
1 1 1.0
1 2 0.783432
1 3 -0.123482
2 1 0.783432
2 2 1.0
2 3 0.928374
and so on....
I can do this with for loops, but there is likely to be a better way
and for my own edification, I would like to see what others would do....

Oracle on ZFS vs. UFS
Hi,
I''m preparing a personal TPC-H benchmark. The goal is not to measure or
optimize the database performance, but to compare ZFS to UFS in similar
configurations.
At the moment I''m preparing the tests at home. The test setup is as
follows:
. Solaris snv_37
. 2 x AMD Opteron 252
. 4 GB RAM
. 2 x 80 GB ST380817AS
. Oracle 10gR2 (small SGA (320m))
The disks also contain the OS
